Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

Breakfast is included in the price. Pets are not allowed. Smoking is prohibited inside. A deposit of **30%** of the total amount will be charged at the time of booking. The room is available from 16:00, except in case of an early check-in. The room must be vacated by 10:30 at the latest, except in the case of a late check-out (additional costs may apply). Modification conditions: For any changes regarding the number of guests or dates of stay, please contact us directly, we will try to accommodate you regarding our availability. No cancellation fee will be charged 30 days prior to arrival. After that time, the full booking amount will be charged. If cancelled before then, the deposit will be refunded.

Richard de Bas is a water mill that functions as a paper mill and museum on the history of paper in Ambert (Puy-de-Dôme).

The mill and the museum are named after Thomas Richard, the wealthy paper manufacturer who owned this paper mill, among other things. He was murdered on the Col de la Croix de l'Homme mort, on the border of the Loire and Puy-de-Dôme departments.

The museum has three parts:

The living area shows how the owners used to live,
Rooms on the history of papermaking,
The actual mill, which is still functioning.

From 1328 onwards, paper was made in the vicinity of Ambert with paper mills. The location was favorable because there is no lime in the water.

The Château d'Aulteribe is a castle located in Sermentizon, in the department of Puy-de-Déme, Auvergne, central France.

It was built at the end of the 15th century and in the 19th century and in the second half of the 19th century modified and restored. Many of the medieval features of the building were added at this time. In 1954, the castle and its contents were bequeathed to the Centre des monument nationaux [1] by Marquis Henri de Pierre, the last owner. The Château de Aulteribe is currently managed by the Centre des monuments nationaux and is open to the public.

The furniture of the castle includes underpinnings from Flanders and Aubusson, Chinese porcelain and paintings from the 17th to the 19th century.

The castle has been listed as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture since March 30, 1949. The surrounding park, which is believed to date from the first half of the 19th century, was added to the national heritage inventory in 1991. 2
