The house is located in a rural area in the hamlet of Goth. It has a garden enclosed with plants and trees. There are a few other houses in the hamlet so it is not completely isolated. The house has a large stone staircase that leads to the front door and a covered terrace, where you enter a cozy kitchen diner with a huge fireplace, sitting area, kitchen and dining table. The house has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, 1 with a bath.
THE HOUSE
The house has a plot of approximately 4000 m2. The site has a driveway for cars, where several cars can be parked. From here a gravel path leads to the house, with a large stone staircase leading to the front door. At the top of the stairs is a covered terrace, where you can eat together or play a game. The front door of the house is also located on this terrace. You enter a cozy kitchen diner, with a large old fireplace (can be used if necessary), and a sitting area. The kitchen and a large dining table are also located here. The kitchen is fully equipped and has an oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, coffee maker, kettle, 3 burner stove with extractor hood and all necessary kitchen utensils. There is also an old stone sink here, an old element of the house that has been preserved.
From the kitchen you walk through a corridor to an original old wooden door, again an old element that has been preserved in the house, which leads to a bedroom (bedroom 4 in the photos) with a double bed. This spacious room has an old fireplace, which was also used as a fireplace in the past (no longer in use). In this bedroom you come via a staircase that leads down to a bathroom with shower and toilet.
Once back in the hallway of the kitchen, a wooden staircase leads up to what used to be the attic. All the old wooden beams are still visible, and here too an old wooden door has been preserved that leads to bedroom 1. Bedroom 1 is a spacious bedroom with 1 double bed and 1 single bed.
Through a corridor you enter bedroom 2 (with double bed) and bedroom 3 (with double bed). The bathroom has a shower with a large bath, a toilet and a sink.
Towels, bath towels and bed linen are all provided.
There is also wifi both in the house and around the house.
THE GARDEN
In the spacious garden, overgrown with trees and plants, you really have a place to yourself. Here is the swimming pool with a terrace with sunbeds and chairs to relax during your well-deserved holiday. All this is private to you as a guest.
We ourselves stay in the nearby barn, which we are converting into a future holiday home. This could allow us to meet in the parking lot or when we maintain the swimming pool for you.
Neighborhood description
The house is located in the department of Lot, formerly known as the province of "Quercy", in southwestern France. The department owes its name to the river that flows through it: the Lot.
This river is a 10-minute drive from the house and is one of the cleanest rivers in France. You can fish there for carp, catfish, eel and pike-perch.
For the more adventurous among us, you can rent canoes and kayaks in the various towns along the river, or take a trip down the river in a boat. You also have organizations where you can book canyoning and climbing tours, and there are several tree climbing parks nearby.
If you drive through the beautiful landscape with many valleys and rocky hills, you will come across many vast vineyards. The house is located in the oldest wine region of France, which covers more than 4200 hectares and where the red "Cahors wine" (Malbec) comes from, a wine with a protected designation of origin (AOP). There are many wineries in the area where you can taste and buy wine on location.
There are many picturesque villages and towns to visit nearby. The nearest village is Sérignac, a 4 km drive. Here is a small neighborhood supermarket where you can buy all the necessities and where you can order fresh bread every morning. There is also a cozy restaurant with bar.
During the summer months there is a nice food market to visit every night of the week. These food markets are held in various spots around the house. All this within a 20 minute drive. At these food markets you can enjoy local delicacies and a drink. Music is also played at every food market.
The nearest larger towns are approximately 15 km away. For example, you have the medieval town of Puy l'Éveque, where you can do your shopping every Tuesday and Saturday morning at a typical French market. Here you also have a bank, pharmacy, large supermarket and tourist information office.
In addition, there are many places of interest in the area that we are happy to inform you about!
