Our unique secluded, rustic house with private pool and large garden has a very large living room with exposed beams and is located in the wine region in the South of France. With a cozy large fireplace, (wood is available for free), sunny conservatory with sitting and dining area and outside a large terrace/garden with a dining table and a view of the garden, mountains and the pool. In front of the house: a small terrace by the kitchen in the evening sun. Our house is at the end of a cul-de-sac, so no through traffic.
A sunny garden with various seating areas and pots with plants. In the garden there are many Mediterranean plants including Cypresses, agaves, palm and mimosa trees.
Our south-facing conservatory is ideal for spring and autumn.
Here we have a lovely chill/coffee/reading/apéro corner with free WIFI and a second dining table/puzzle table, overlooking the garden and pool and the many birds that live in the tall Cypresses around the house.
The thick walls of the house make it nice and cool inside in the summer.
It really is a fantastic (and safe) place, more than 1650m², provided you like peace, space, nature and flowers and stars.
2 km from a supermarket with bakery.
We are the last house on a dead end road: so no traffic.
The river Orb flows in front of the house, tucked deep into the riverbed. No risk of flooding because the house is much higher than the river.
In the river people fish, float in boats and play, built dams by the children, swam by dogs and cool off during hot days.
Here you can sit in the river with a chair under the trees in warm weather.
Hiking trails also run along the river Orb. For hikers and mountain bikers: you can walk to the supermarket along the river Orb. Our house is also located in the Parc Regional du Haut-Languedoc, which is known for its special nature. Within 10 minutes you can enjoy the beautiful views in the mountains.
Next to the house are vineyards and free nature. We tried to design the garden with the following idea behind it:
If your own garden is so close to the original nature of this area, the garden should be an extension, a natural transition to a slightly more cultivated area. We hope we have succeeded in that. Many Boxwood, Oleanders, Yuccas, Palms, Cypresses and Mimosas adorn the garden.
We always have many flowers in pots for the atmosphere. In the garden you can pick and eat figs all summer long. Delicious: figs on a baguette with a soft goat cheese from the oven! You can also get started with the almonds from the almond trees and in the fall: eat grapes!
Internet (WIFI/WLAN) (via fiber), is available free of charge , but you must provide your own Tablet, Smartphone or Laptop. We also have TV via satellite, so that we can receive all Dutch channels + 100 others.
At 2 km there is an Intermarché (you can also walk to it via a path along the river ORB) and at 4 km. Bousquet d'Orb is located with bakeries, restaurants, cave with wine from the area, doctor's office, pharmacy, bar, etc. In Bédarieux at 8 km. is a 24-hour emergency "Les Tois Vallées" and a hospital. Furthermore, large chains such as Lidl, Action, McDonalds and a Hypermarché.
Sports: walking from home, cycling, hiking, mountain-biking in the mountains, canoeing, sailing on the Lac du Salagou: much is possible in the area.
The Mediterranean Sea is 50 km away. with its many seaside resorts, such as Valras-plage and Cap d'Agde.

The changeover day is on Saturday in the high season and can be booked for at least 2 weeks in the high season. After consultation with us, it is also possible to arrive on another day outside the high season and realize a stay of e.g. 10 days. You can and may always send us an email about the possibilities.
