Apartment

At the Mas Blanc there is a 2, 4 and 6 pers. house.

In the 12th century, Benedictine monks chose this beautiful place. The fantastic view over the Cevennes still testifies to their sense of beauty every day. You will find Peace, Nature, Swimming Pool and Sun. A holiday in the South of France that will stay with you.

Free WIFI

Want to spend a holiday full of peace and quiet on the border of Provence and Cevennes in the south of France? At the Mas Blanc you will experience a holiday as you wish. Once the decision has been made to come here on holiday, there is room for justified high expectations and therefore wonderful anticipation.

Your holiday home is located in the special nature for which Provence, and even more so the Cevennes, are known. Rest, swimming (our swimming pool is heated and chlorine-free) and good food will bring the relaxation you are looking for.
To make it clear, this site gives you an impression of the location, the atmosphere and the costs of a stay. You can request detailed information per accommodation.

For walking or cycling, you can leave directly from your holiday home. Avignon, Uzès, Nimes and Montpellier (the beach) are (cultural) cities that are definitely worth a visit. The Mas is located at an altitude of 300 meters. Exactly the altitude where humidity and purity are ideal for human health. Nearby are rustic villages with their local market and attractions. Culture and Nature go hand in hand here.
The old-fashioned genuine hospitality, the beautiful nature and the excellent food guarantee you a holiday that you will remember with pleasure.

The Mas Blanc is located in a Nature Reserve, with springs and hiking trails. A special place where you can quickly relax, far away from all the hustle and bustle.

Cévennes

This twelfth century estate is located on the border of Provence and the Cevennes in southern France. High and quiet in the hills above the Cèze river. Where the scent of thyme, lavender and rosemary wafts up with every step.

Homesick for the Mas Blanc
A holiday at the Mas Blanc will almost certainly ensure that you will look back on it afterwards with nostalgia. Despite its 40 hectares, Le Mas Blanc is a small-scale holiday destination that can accommodate approximately 25 guests. The former monastery has been beautifully restored.

Heated and chlorine-free swimming pool

The swimming pool has a chlorine and salt-free cleaning method, which significantly increases your swimming pleasure. The swimming water heated by solar panels and heat exchangers ensures that you can also take a dip in spring and autumn. Check out the photos and video and see the special view while you swim! Nature and Culture can go hand in hand during this holiday. Historic cities such as Avignon, Nîmes and Uzès can be reached within an hour. But the beach of the Mediterranean Sea is also part of a holiday in the South of France and is often the goal of a day trip for Mas guests.

Culinary

There is now a small cozy restaurant in the space where silkworms used to be bred. In the evening (in spring and autumn around the fireplace and in summer under the chestnut tree), guests come to enjoy the dinner that our chef has prepared for them that day with care and love and with fresh products. Our reputation, "delicious and easily digestible", has prompted publisher Scepter to make our restaurant the subject of the book "Cooking on a Mountain". Our prices, €24.95 (children €12) for the three-course menu, are referred to as "inversely proportional to the quality offered". You can sit at the large guest table or dine with your partner or family at the border of our romantic pond. At the Mas Blanc you can choose from 3 formulas:

1. Half board 7 x breakfast and 5 dinners = € 210
2. Only 5 dinners = € 125. Children € 60 (the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and Fridays)
3. Cook yourself. (Read more below)

If you (usually) prefer to cook yourself, please let us know when booking. You are certainly welcome as a guest. You then rent a holiday accommodation that is located some distance from the Mas Blanc. We always confirm agreements about formula 3 separately on the booking confirmation.
If you do not tell us a choice, we will note the most common formula 2

French monks chose the location, Dutch idealists restored the building with care and love and you enjoy the result. When you drive up the forest path to Le Mas Blanc, we will be ready to welcome you with a glass of wine. To get in the mood, the beautiful song that accompanies the video is definitely worth listening to.
See you SUN!

Being a host and hostess because you really enjoy it. That was the reason to live in the nature of the Cevennes 30 years ago. We bought the ruins of a former monastery and restored it with heart and soul over 6 years. We receive guests 6 months a year (check Zoover for more than 400 independent reviews) and it still feels like a great gift. After a holiday at the Mas you will come home rested and satisfied.

Additional information

There in his Cévennes, during the feast he prepares for you, he talks so passionately about his own country that deep in your heart his friendship glows with a touch of bliss. To you he opens his life, his cellar and thoughts, his table turns out to be a complete historical novel, the taste of his wine is as charming as himself and leaves a feeling of warmth and anticipation. In a beautiful chanson, Yves Duteil sings and draws the atmosphere, character and people of the country he is homesick for: the Cévennes in southern France.
A lovely and at the same time rugged country with the largest French national park at its heart: “Parc National des Cevennes”. A country with its own eventful history and its own unsurpassedly beautiful landscape. Poor but also terribly rich. In this sun-drenched region, just south of the Ardèche, near the town of Saint Ambroix lies the characteristic centuries-old estate: Le Mas Blanc. High and quiet in the hills above the Cèze river, where the scent of thyme, lavender and rosemary wafts with every step. A wonderful place, which we guarantee that almost everyone will long to return to after their first visit.
In the atmosphere explained above, you will be welcomed by Le Patron, a Dutchman with a very French heart. The house was originally a small 12th-century monastery. Beautifully restored, it is now furnished to receive you and your family. The 2 houses and 5 comfortable apartments are different in size and decor and features a small kitchen. You can also book a room on half board. Le Mas Blanc is a small holiday project and seats approximately 30 guests. Guests of Le Mas Blanc can cool off in a unique swimming pool, which receives its pure water directly from a source in the hills. It is heated by solar panels. The pool has a chlorine-free cleaning method, which significantly increases your swimming pleasure.
In the room where in earlier times the silkworms were cultivated, is now a small restaurant. In the spring and fall around the fireplace and in summer under the chestnut tree the guests enjoy the culinary creations of our cook. (Open from late April to late October) Our prices (€ 19.95 for adults and € 10.00 for children) for the three-course menu, is called "inversely proportional" to the quality offered. If you have an apartment or house in the grounds of the Mas, You will enjoy five times per week your dinner in our restaurant. If you prefer to cook for yourself, you can book into one of the houses in the immediate vicinity of the Mas Blanc. You should just indicate this in the reservation.
Le Mas Blanc is in the "zone Périférique" of the Cevennes National Park. This country possesses not only an exceptionally rich nature, unforgettable landscapes and ancient villages, but also has a cultural history that is unique to France. Historic towns such as Nimes, Uzes and Avignon are about an hour's drive away. In the region there are beautiful buildings like the Roman Pont du Gard. By means of our present maps, leaflets and books you can orientate yourselves well on the many opportunities in the area.
Like the national park itself, also the entire surrounding area is extremely rich in flora and fauna. Guests who visited us, found that European rarities here are more the rule than the exception. The many types of orchids here in the May and June, delight the connoisseurs. This wealth exists also in the world of birds and other animals. In May and June the nightingales awake you with their wonderful song. And what about the flight of dozens of eagles each year on their way to elsewhere. Especially in the spring or autumn, a visit to Le Mas Blanc is therefore recommended. Geologically the area is equally interesting. (Both in the immediate vicinity, where the Carbon comes to the surface, as a few dozen kilometers away, where for example the imposing and magnificent canyons of "Gorges de l'Ardeche" and Tarne can be admired). It is possible to discover speleology. And around Le Mas fossils can certainly be found. Caves can be visited, and in the river "Gagnière" tourist can find small pieces of gold. Le Mas Blanc is an ideal starting point for all these activities.
There are plenty of options for sports enthusiasts. You can canoe in the Cèze, Ardèche and Chassezac, which are deep enough in a number of places and remain fast-flowing, even in high summer.
There are several smaller rivers nearby for swimming.
The country here seems created for cycling tours for racing bikes and mountain bikes. Wherever one pedals, the sporty appearance of steepness and bends compete with the beauty of the surroundings.
The municipal tennis court, located within walking distance, can be used for a very small fee.
The quiet, rugged environment is a very special attraction for hikers. Le Mas Blanc is visited by hikers, especially in spring and autumn. They enjoy the endless possibilities and exchange their experiences in the evening by the fireplace and during dinner.
If you want to explore the area on horseback, you can go to various riding schools.
NB: Due to Saturday cleaning work, we can only receive you at Le Mas Blanc after 4 p.m.
TIP: Be sure to include the last part of this description, because Tom Tom does not know that part.
Via Maastricht and Luxembourg you drive on the autoroute du Soleil past Lyon towards Marseille. You can then choose a route via Aubenas (A) or via Barjac (B). The distance from Maastricht is 950 km. Route A: After Valence, take the Privas exit, which will take you to the N 104, which takes you via Privas to Aubenas. In Aubenas, choose the direction of Alès via the D 104 and D 109, driving a few kilometers past Saint Bres. Just before Saint Ambroix, turn right towards Bessèges onto the D 51. This beautiful route is 20 kilometers shorter, but takes ± half an hour longer than the next one. Route B: You leave the autoroute at the Bollène/Pont St. Esprit exit. First you drive to Pont St. Esprit. It is now still 75 kilometers (± 1 hour and fifteen minutes). Then a few kilometers via the D 86 and then via the D 901 to Barjac. After Barjac, take the D 979 to Saint Jean de Mauruejols and from there take the D 51 to Saint Ambroix. In Saint Ambroix take the D 904 towards Bessèges. Outside Saint Ambroix, turn left (still towards Bessèges) onto the D 51. Both routes: After a few kilometers, turn left over the bridge (the river Cèze), towards Molières sur Cèze. Immediately after the bridge, turn right to Les Brousses, via the D 130. In the hamlet of Les Brousses, take the first road on the right (there is already a sign from us there) and keep right again, so that you drive past the tennis court towards the forest. You now go straight ahead via a winding forest path up the hill (1.5 km). The surprise will be great when you see Le Mas Blanc in all its whiteness before you. People are already looking forward to it. GPS address: North 44* 15' 254" East 004* 07' 112" Address Le Mas Blanc: 30410 Les Brousses, Molières sur Cèze
