NICE AND CLOSE, PLENTY OF FRANCE
What a gem, this monumental Old Grain Barn from 1869. Just a few hours' drive from the Netherlands. Just across the Belgian border, but immediately all the way to France with church, pub, bakery and Spar around the corner. A century and a half later, the imposing structure has been thoroughly restored while retaining its old soul, but equipped with modern conveniences. There is a kitchen with stylish interior, living room with panoramic views, bedrooms with comfortable beds, spacious shower with powerful water and a covered terrace. In short, an authentic yet comfortable accommodation where you can enjoy the tranquility of the countryside.
In addition, you can also be active on the many hiking trails and mountain bike routes of the French Ardennes. The house is suitable for four to five people, with two bedrooms on the first floor, the one
with a double bed, the other with two single beds. In the so-called castle room there is an extra sleeping option with the use of a folding bed. To be honest, with 5 adults it is a bit on the tight side, with children it is easier. The Old Wheat Barn is an ideal place to move around in the beautiful Ardennes nature or to just swing with a book in the hammock or to stare into the crackling fire by the wood stove. The cottage is located in the middle of nature, in the Parc Naturel Régional des Ardennes. There are plenty of opportunities for trips in the area. Interesting cities such as Reims, Sedan and Charleville-Mezieres, relaxing canoe trips on the Aisne, the Route des Eglises Fortifiées de Thiérache, adventurous climbing course through tree tops, hiking on one of many routes, wandering through the woods, swimming and boating on one of the many lakes in the area. A little further on the other side is La Fermette, the Old Farmhouse. This somewhat more spacious holiday farm for six to eight people can be rented in combination so that several families can enjoy a holiday.
