Gite Bienvenue is located in the foothills of the French Ardennes near the Belgian border, so close to the Netherlands but still completely in the silence of the French countryside. A wonderful environment for people who are looking for peace and quiet and want to enjoy long walks or bike rides on quiet roads.
The house is located in the village of Iviers and has been restored and furnished with great care.
You can stay there with a maximum of 5 people. The living room with wood stove has a nice atmosphere and a beautiful view (see photo). There is a beautiful open kitchen with a five-burner gas stove and plenty of kitchen utensils for good cooking.
There is a 4g router for wifi. There is also a record player with singles and LPs.
The bathroom has a spacious shower, a sink and an infrared sauna for two people.
In the downstairs bedroom there is a large double bed with electrically adjustable slatted bases.
On the first floor is a second bedroom with two single beds and a sitting area. A third single bed can be added.
In the front garden is a small terrace where you can see the village life pass by and behind the house
is a large garden where you can sit privately. There are always both sun and shade areas here. The garden is partially fenced so that your dog cannot run away.
The holiday home is always cleaned with care before you arrive.
You are very welcome!
The region is visited by few tourists, so you can enjoy the hilly landscape in peace and quiet with rolling fields full of flowering rapeseed in the spring, fields with grain in the summer and meadows full of different breeds of cows.
You will find small rivers, beautiful forests and farms with chickens and geese in the yard.
In many ways, time seems to have stood still here. When the street lamps in the village go out at ten o'clock in the evening, you can marvel at the clear starry sky.
From the house you can walk endlessly on quiet roads and enjoy the peace and space, views over the fields, the sleepy villages and beautiful forests. This is also nice on the bike, although
you have to take into account the hilly character of the area.
In Signy le Petit there is a lake where you can swim and there are opportunities for kayaking or horseback riding.
There are several hiking trails waiting for you in the holiday home.
Nice villages and towns, special churches and beautiful abbeys can be found nearby and from spring to autumn there are always a few villages that organize a flea market on weekends.
In the guestbook you will find more tips for trips and a list of flea markets.
A little further away, you can taste champagne in Reims (65 km) or visit Charleville-Mézieres (50 km) with its many beautiful buildings. The medieval fortified town of Laon with its magnificent cathedral (55 km) is also worth a visit.
Saint Quentin is known for its art deco architecture and is also worth a visit with its cozy terraces (70km).
