Farmhouse

The former farmhouse is in a fantastic location in the beautiful Creuse countryside. In this landscape, forests, lakes and meadows with the famous Limousin cows dominate. The house is located at an altitude of 500 meters against a mountain slope, creating an unprecedentedly beautiful view. There are lovely natural stone terraces in front of the house, facing south, so you can quickly sit outside. The house has its own water source that gives the sound of a small waterfall. There is plenty of room for children around.

On the ground floor there is a nicely furnished living room with a large wood-burning stove, a sitting area and a large dining table. The walls are "en pierre", as the French say. Large natural stone walls and a ceiling of oak beams. The ceilings are high by French standards, which gives the house allure. There are two large bedrooms, 20 m2 and 25 m2. One room has a double bed of 1.80 x 2.00 m. The second room has two single beds of 0.90 x 2.00 m with its own sitting area and French doors. The large modern kitchen is new and equipped with a dishwasher and a luxury oven with microwave. The spacious bathroom has a bathtub with shower.

The floor has its own entrance at the rear, because the house is built on a slope. There is actually a second home, because the floor also has its own bathroom and kitchen with an additional dining table. The largest bedroom of 36 m2 is also an additional sitting room with two large sofas. In this room there is a large four-poster bed of 1.80 x 2.00 meters. The other bedroom has a double bed of 1.60 x 2.00 meters and a single bed of 0.90 x 2.00 meters. If necessary, a ninth person could also spend the night.

The property is not directly on the road. The hamlet of Arfeuille has three houses and a small access road. There are several large oaks and sweet chestnuts on the grounds. The oaks are sometimes very old, from the garden there is a view of an oak with an age of between 400 and 500 years old. The neighbor keeps chickens and a few goats that provide cosiness. They are very friendly people who enjoy a chat. The third house in the hamlet is a holiday home for people from Paris.

We are lovers of the good French life. We enjoy peace and space and would like to share the privilege of owning our two French properties with you. We have already largely finished working in the Netherlands. In Provence we have a beautifully situated chambre d'hotes in Blauvac, with a view of Mont Ventoux. The name is Les Terrasses de Cascavelle.

Additional information

The Creuse is a sparsely populated department in France. Here you can still find pure France. People earn the costs with animal husbandry and forestry. There is no tastier meat in France that is a prime rib or faux fillet from a Limousin cow. The local butcher in Sauviat-sur-vige has already sold us a lot. Oradour-sur-Glane is an attraction. Here the German occupiers destroyed a complete village at the end of the Second World War. The French authorities have made it into an important monument. Here she still sees the destroyed village in the state of 1944. The cars of that time are still in the streets. Although a horrible event, this is actually a must visit. You do not pay an entrance fee. For those who want to see the contrast, you can also visit the new Oradour.
