In 1 of the most beautiful places in the Corrèze (the green heart of France), in a natura 2000 area, with magnificent views over the valley of the Dordogne and Lac de Hautefage, you will find this cozy, authentic Gîte (former farmhouse) completely modernized by a Dutch contractor.
Here you can still experience the real old France; authenticity, silence, beautiful views, nature, tranquility and no light/air pollution.
The Gîte is cozy and fully equipped. The layout is as follows: the ground floor with the kitchen, wood oven, kitchen unit with gas oven and dishwasher, bathroom and a door to the terrace. Via the stairs up you reach the living floor with beautiful light laminate flooring and modern décor, there is a fireplace, dining table and a lovely lounge sofa, from this room you have a beautiful view then a staircase to the top floor with 2 bedrooms, 1 with a double bed and a room with sofa bed and spacious wardrobe, Both with beautiful views.
On the terrace at the rear you have all the privacy, shade, you sit under the grapevines and you have a breathtaking view over the valley and the lake.
The 'Vallée de la Dordogne' extends over the departments of Corrèze and Dordogne. The beautiful, green, hilly surroundings offer various opportunities for sporting activities such as hiking, swimming (750 meters in the lake), mountain biking, cycling, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, rafting and via ferrata.
For lovers of culture, architecture and art, there are numerous medieval castles, museums and beautiful old towns in this region.
One of those nice places is Argentat sur Dordogne, 10 minutes by car from the Gîte.
Other nearby beautiful towns include the picturesque Collonges-la-Rouge, the medieval towns of Salers, Sarlat, Beaulieu sur Dordogne and of course Rocamadour. The ruins of Tours de Merle (12th Century!) are 15 minutes away. There are also several beautiful caves such as e.g. Padirac nearby.
In the summer numerous activities in the area such as flea markets, summer markets, music festivals and classic car exhibitions.
For beautiful views and challenging hikes, you can drive to Puy Mary (1783 meters) and/or the ski area Le Lioran (1850 meters) at 1.5 hours.
A very beautiful city with beautiful old center with nice shops and several nice restaurants is Brive at 60 Km.
From Utrecht it is about 980 kilometers.
Our guests rate our cottage with a 9/10 at Natuurhuisje and a 9.6 at Gites, we are of course very happy with this!
