This holiday home is the ideal place for those looking for peace, space and nature! Beautiful surroundings, clean air, lots of butterflies, squirrels and a view of grazing cows in the distance ensure that you completely relax. A spacious (350m2), comfortable and bright house, with many windows overlooking the beautiful garden. A large kitchen with all amenities to enjoy cooking, while you have a view of the tree garden from the kitchen.
In the town of Vesdun, 8 hours from the center of the Netherlands, our holiday home is located on a dead-end road, surrounded by half a hectare of former arboretum. This garden consists of trees from different parts of the world. In the distance, a view of the adjacent meadow with grazing cows. On very hot days, the fresh outdoor shower in the garden is wonderful!
From the slightly higher covered terrace, on 3 sides of the house, you can sit outside until late in the evening, enjoying the setting sun, the clear starry sky and the silence, disturbed only by the sound of the crickets, birds or the church bell from the village.
In autumn the garden is a sea of flowers of small cyclamens that cover the garden like a pink/white carpet.
The house is spacious and light, because all rooms have large windows. The large house was completely renovated in 2011. The sitting room, with wood stove, has a separate dining room that also overlooks the garden. The dining room is opposite the spacious and practically furnished kitchen, with a beautiful view of the garden. The downstairs bathroom, with bath on legs, has been renovated while retaining authentic elements. on the ground floor is a bedroom with a double bed. There is also a children's room with bunk beds and baby bed on the ground floor. The first floor with two spacious bedrooms, bathroom and toilet was built in 2011.
On the same grounds of the large house is a 4-person house (100m2 and completely renovated in 2015! No. 20347). Both houses are rented separately and are also completely separate from each other with privacy in the garden, so that this remains secure.
The area: Vesdun: A good restaurant 'Le Salignon' and nearby a food shop where you can buy/order croissants, etc. Antiquity is palpable in the area, remnants from the time when the Celts and Romans were here, such as the Romanesque church known for its beautiful frescoes from the 12th century. There are many flea markets and vides greniers in the area in the summer months and if you like beautiful gardens, there are many to visit in the area!
The house is located on the border between the Cher and the Allier, nearby (15 minutes by car) is the large lake of Sidiailles, where you can swim in the clear water or rent a boat... you can also take an exciting rope climbing tour along and over the lake!
Small meadows surrounded by hedges, interspersed with many rivers and forests. The hills turn into mountains a few kilometers further and even further into the Massif Central, where you can ski within a 1.5-hour drive. The people are simple and friendly. Chateaumeillant (a 15-minute drive) has an Appellation for its wine region!
About 15 minutes from the house you will also find a beautiful large swimming lake, where you can rent boats and where you can, among other things, 'abseil' over the lake!
The rural environment and unspoilt nature lends itself to beautiful walks in unspoilt nature. And there is an 18-hole golf course a 20-minute drive away where you pretty much have it all to yourself!
Horse riding is possible in a number of places and fishing enthusiasts have many lakes at their disposal. There are also many options for cyclists. When booking you will receive a detailed description of what there is to see and do in the surrounding area of the house.
