Saserroka: View Space Privacy

9.2

Our natural stone farmhouse Saserroka (1795) is located at 650 meters altitude in a rural setting, in the middle of unspoilt nature with wild rivers and lakes in the "Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans". Hard-working friendly farmers live in the small village with their beautiful Salers cows, funny donkeys and slender horses.

Saserroka stands on approximately 7,300 m² rolling landscape with walnut, hazelnut and cherry trees. At the end of our country is a water source with associated flora and fauna.
In the cozy authentic living room with wood burning stove there is a well-equipped kitchen with a combi oven / microwave, fridge with freezer, Nespresso and coffee maker, kettle, hand blender, electric juicer and a knife block. In the utility room is the washing machine and a second toilet. Behind the pantry is the 'part', the original stable of the farm. From this part you walk 'inside' to the rear of the house to the 2nd terrace with a wide view and sun until the end of the day. Large and small children can enjoy themselves with the trampoline, table football or relax in the Fatboy hammock. You can also enjoy playing with the water course, water guns or just enjoy playing football or tennis?
On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms (master bedroom and children's room with bunk beds and 1 single bed) and a bathroom with bath / shower and a toilet. The former hayloft has been converted into a studio annex lounge area / 2nd living room (equipped with a lovely (work) table, an easel, a filled bookcase and table football). Bedrooms adjoin this.

Saserroka is located in the Cantal department, with its impressive (volcano) landscapes ideal for nature lovers. A great area for walking, mountain biking, golfing, horse riding, fishing or for various water sports (eg canoe / kayak or windsurfing). In addition to the mountain ranges and the famous Puy de Sancy (1885 m) there are many authentic medieval villages, typical regional dishes and famous cheeses (Cantal, Saler and Saint-Nectaire).

We, Eric and Saskia, enjoy Saserroka immensely in the beautiful Auvergne. Our authentic natural stone house (1795) with spacious garden (7,300 m²) offers relaxing views and lots of privacy. The trampoline, table football and water guns are available for children. On the sheltered terrace we enjoy many moments of special birds and flowers. In the evening we are quiet because of the overwhelming starry sky. The place if you like peace, space, nature & history and delicious food and drinks.

Location & tips

Additional information

A day at the beach? Head for the fine sandy beach at the reservoir at the foot of Château de Val. There is a delimited and supervised swimming area. There is also a WipeOutbaan for the children. You can also rent canoes, boats and pedal boats to explore the lake with its impressive castle and wooded area. For the more sporty, the nearby Parc Val-Aventure is worth a visit, a trail through the trees. You can fish anywhere on and on the lake.
Fancy a wonderful walk with a panoramic view? Our favorite is the Puy Mary (1783 meters) - one of the highest mountains in the Massif Central - created 70,000 years ago by volcanic eruptions. You can see that in many places in the valleys around the Puy Mary. Enjoy the beautiful nature and the beautiful panoramic view!
From the gorge of Saint-Julien-près-Bort beautiful view of the Dordogne river.
In the historic center of Ussel you walk past many houses from the 16th century. And don't forget the Renaissance house of the Duke of Ventadours. The fountain of Pelauds on Place Joffre square is also very special. The Saint-Martin l'église from the 12th and 13th centuries is also worth a visit. You see beautiful choir stalls from the 18th century, and there is also an impressive Pietà of multi-colored wood from the 16th century.
