The house is situated on a spacious, partly shaded area of 1700 m with ample parking space in front of the door. The site is not fenced, and therefore blends nicely into the surroundings, but the swimming pool does. The villa is detached but not isolated on the edge of the village.
The house is located on the edge of the ancient village of Bouilhonnac, which is located on a hill. The villa is situated on one of the highest points of the village and has a fantastic view of the Montagne Noire. When the weather is clear you can see as far as the Pyrenees and you will be closer to the Cité of Carcassonne. This fortified city is a 10-minute drive away and is a must visit. Together with the nearby Canal du Midi, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the immediate vicinity of the house are beautiful hiking and mountain bike routes among the vineyards and of course there are also wine domains to visit. Less than 100m from the house is the ruins of the old Chateau of Bouilhonnac.
3 km away is the village of Trèbes with all amenities, 2 large supermarkets with gas pump, bakers, butchers, pharmacies, etc. There are also several cozy restaurants with terraces on the Canal du Midi.
The area is very interesting with old fortresses and castles from the Cathar era. For an afternoon of shopping, the large city of Toulouse is an hour's drive away, where the airport is also located with a direct connection to Amsterdam. The coast is about 50 minutes by car, with large child-friendly sloping beaches.
In short, a beautiful and varied environment!
