"La Soffitta" is an authentic holiday home in the picturesque Pieve di Monti di Villa
Our holiday home is located in the charming Pieve di Monti di Villa, a medieval hamlet at an altitude of about 450 meters. This idyllic village is part of the municipality of Bagni di Lucca and is one of the many authentic mountain villages in the area.
The house has an area of approximately 165 m² and is spread over several floors. It is part of a historic "palazzo" and is built against a mountain. As a result, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Apennines from the rear – from the windows, the terrace, the garden and the swimming pool. Thanks to its location at altitude, it cools down wonderfully in the evening.
Layout of the house
The house and outdoor areas are spread over four levels:
- First floor: kitchen, bathroom, dining room, living room and three bedrooms.
- Ground floor (accessed via the alley): master bedroom and bathroom, as well as a door to the terrace/balcony.
- Basement: accessible by an internal staircase, with an exit to an external staircase leading to the garden.
- Garden & pool area: various places to relax such as under the pergola or by the pool. The pool area is directly adjacent to the garden.
The house is equipped with all modern conveniences, including good wifi. There are pallet stoves in both the dining room and the living room. There are two water boilers for hot water. Outside there are several places where you can enjoy the serene tranquility, the beautiful view, a delicious meal, the sun and the pool.
Location & surroundings
The area offers plenty of opportunities for culture, sports and culinary excursions:
- The atmospheric fortified city of Lucca, with its imposing city walls, is only a 35-minute drive away.
- The cultural heart of Tuscany, Florence, as well as the beaches of Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi, can be reached in about an hour.
- A 2-minute walk from our house you will find a rifugio, where you can enjoy lunch or dinner in the summer months.
- In 8 minutes you can drive to Bagni di Lucca or Fornoli, where you will find many restaurants, bars and supermarkets.
Active enjoyment in nature
From the house you can take beautiful walks or explore the Orrido di Botri nature reserve in a 20-minute drive, an impressive gorge with crystal clear water. Sports enthusiasts can explore the area on a road bike or mountain bike. Those who like to swim in nature can go to the Lima River, where you can cool off in the clear, cold water. There is also an adventure park nearby where you can do canyoning in and above the river.
