We live near Julianadorp and know the island very well. We are always there for you and are happy to help you plan your holiday before arrival, but also during your stay, including suggestions and reservations for the best restaurants, events, concerts, etc.
We always advise our guests to rent a car, because the island has so much to offer. We have some - fully electric - Nissan Leaf's for our guests (free charging at our own charging station on the Grenenweg next to the villa).
We consider the economic use of energy and water to be very important. That is why we have chosen to charge energy and water separately. However, the energy consumption of the air conditioners, refrigerator and other equipment in the villa is low. The average cost is approximately Eur 100 per week. We will settle the amount at the end of your stay based on meter readings and the actual rates of the utilities.
The Julianadorp district:
Julianadorp falls under the Groot Piscadera area. The first houses were built in 1928. They were 40-storey houses. This district is called “old Julianadorp”. Adjacent to this high-rise, low-rise homes were built between 1945 and 1950, which were distributed in the district on the 3 residential hills. The lower parts were water collection areas. Tropical construction was taken into account, so that, for example, the wind direction determined the direction in which each house was located. Julianadorp was then also called the Shell district. The houses were built for employees and management of the Shell refinery. The area was closed off with barriers at the time. Julianadorp has approximately 350 homes. During Queen Juliana's visit to Curaçao in 1955, Julianadorp was officially given its name and the plaque on the monument in the school garden was unveiled by the Queen.
