Since 30 years we have on the peninsula Ciovo near Trogir Dalmatia a family home, 6 years ago converted into apartments Ciovo house, where we and our children, meanwhile, partner and children like to spend their holidays.
The house is located 50m from the Adriatic sea and there are plenty to do here for everyone .The house situated in a quiet part of the peninsula directly to the open sea with a view of the many islands in the area. The little village of Businci, together with Mavarstica an incompetent reel of the village of Okrug Gornji what is the most popular tourist destination is the town of Trogir
Trogir is to the Ciovo peninsula connected with a narrow bridge. A not too broad road of about 4km long to get in Okrug Gornji. In between you have restored a beautiful campsite Rozac passed and you will pass the Rozac Beach 3km . This pebble beach with many bars, restaurants and water sports will be increased each year.
At the end uphill to the village Okrug Gornji.Dit small old fishing village now has all the facilities you as a tourist verwacht. In one of the many holiday homes / apartments can comfortably spend your holiday and from there via shuttle boat to Trogir and Split old Roman buildings to visit . Trogir is not protected by Unesco for nothing. Want to see more nature there are numerous parks in the area to visit. In the summer this area can be crowded but in spring and autumn it is much quieter in these tourist attractions.
UNESCO town Trogir / Tragurium
Centrally located on the crystal clear Adriatic Sea in the heart of the Dalmatian coast lies the ancient town Trogir.Trogir is actually an open museum with its cathedral and many kerktorens.Vele of these old buildings from the Roman period and for that reason the also on the UNESCO list The United Nations put. The entrance gates, the city now outgrown with residential areas on the peninsula of Ciovo and the mainland. Bridges connect the parts together.

Walking through the old town, formerly called Tragurium, the old wharf now transformed into a beautiful boulevard with summer the most beautiful yachts moored the many VIPs and many activities there omheen.Aan the end of the boulevard is the fort that you can climb Kamerlengo . In the heart of the town is the Cathedral of Sveti Ivan (St Johann) with its unique portal designed by sculptor Radovan. Saturdays, this church to marry a beloved object which is an attraction in itself. The cathedral is surrounded by a large square with terraces where summers include fashion shows and folk dances are held. The market just outside the city walls is always an attractive visit.

Of gastric friend to keep the city full of shops, cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy the Dalmatian specialiteiten.Vis, meat, olive oil, indigenous vegetables and fruits and wine are the most important ingredients and all in the "backyard" of the town to find. Everything is fresh, because the Croat is critical to his diet. Please take into account the different prices in the restaurants. Menus with prices are clearly at every opportunity to read.

Totslot something about the accessibility of Trogir and its surroundings. A beautiful highway takes you from the north of Croatia to Split and Dubrovnik soon. The exit Trogir # 24 is clearly marked. By plane it is easy in this environment. The Split airport is less than 6km and there you may want a car huren.Op Split Croatian Airlines fly apart many budget airlines like Ryan Air and German Wings. Totslot there are good ferry connections to Split from Ancona, Italy and Rijeka, Croatia.
In previous entries I mentioned that Trogir very centrally located for trips to many tourist attractions in Central Dalamatie. National Parks Plitvica Lakes and Krka Waterfalls are a great stop between to Trogir, but can also be visited as a daytrips while South Dalmatia with Dubrovnik again asks for an extra night. From the vicinity of Ciovo / Trogir and Split area a must. The ancient city of Split with its Diocletian palace and Sv. Duje kathedraaal. from Trogir can also pendelbboot per visit, plus some surrounding islands.
By car on the way to twenty kilometers more distant from Trogir Split one comes first along a typical section of the Dalmatian coast. Here are the 7 Castles villages, each beautifully situated on the coast and along with Ciovo and Marjan hill a Kastela Bay vormen.De old fishing villages in the former Yugoslav state had quite a few industries, which, in recent years back to remove . Each village has its own "castle", an old fortress on the sea and often as a defense fort served in Roman times. However, the best preserved castle and famous is that of Kastel Gomilica, built in the sea and surrounded by water and a bridge to the mainland. Within the walls are still living people.
After Kastel Sucurac leads into the town of Solin or as the Romans used to say Salona with the remains of the Roman stad.Hoewel excavations less cultivated as in other countries this is a visit worth. In a trip can be than the old picturesque Fort Klis visits a few kilometers away on the mountain Kozjak ligt.Vanaf this fort offers a splendid panorama of the surroundings of this stretch of coast and sea.
On to Split or as the Romans used to say Aspalathos (the Italians still speak of "Spalato". The city with the car driving can be up close to the huge market parkeren.Van here you can walk to the vegetable / fish / native-products market and tourist visits, after which you will reach the harbor and the old town they uitkomt.Ieder street of the boulevard takes you through narrow streets with numerous shops and cafes in the old parts and old buildings with gettos spelonken.Voor walkers the route to the green hill Marjan (the "lungs of the city") to do so, if only for the uitzicht.Ook Split is not for nothing on the UNESCO list.
Do you have sufficient Split views would your next trip to one of the many islands off the coast kunnnen are. You can park your car the best weather in the large car into Split and buy a ticket for running one of the Trajektboten to Hvar, Brac, Solta, Korcula or Vis. Finally a personal opmerking.Gelukkig described the Reiskrant De Telegraaf last weekend a very positive story about Croatia. A story that the landlords in Croatia for several years regularly hear and read in their guestbooks that also Micazu to read if you click on the guestbook stories.
,, Great, do not expect "," are the many statements of guests who are more cultural attractions in kKroatie bezoeken.Niet only the current Croatian culture, they can come in many museums, but also that of the Pre-Roman
time, Roman and Renaissance time. Croatia is in that respect propaganda for the entire Southern European culture.
In the Archaeological Museum in Zadar (formerly: Zara), Middle Dalmatia, one finds. sculptures from the 9th to 12th eeuw.Bekend include. a relief of San Domenico and a 11th century portal of the Duomo of Spalato Andrya Buvina 1214 from the sarcophagus of San Simona de Zara from 1380 can be found here.
Cathedrals one comes in many cities of this still very Roman Catholic country tegen.De most are located in Pula, Istria and Trogir and Split, Dalmatia, but also the kathedral of Dubrovnik, South Dalmatia and Slavonia Osijek may be called.
Inhabited cultural sights can be found in the old city of Split / Spalato, Dubrovnik, Trogir and Porec / Parenzo Istrie.Tussen Trogir and Split are the 7 Castles where Kastel Gomilica the finest fortress / chateau has. In the narrow streets of this old town centers, ancient city / castle walls used as part of the houses behind it and the old buildings adapted to use of our time such as antennas / air etc.De cozy streets with many restaurants and sometimes beautiful courtyards are further filled with many tourist shops.
In most ramp attractions and cities in the summer many cultural folk events gehoden certainly worth a visit. Www.appartementenkroatie.eu On our website you will find a link to web album where you can see lots of photos made by many of our guests in the various places www.mira-komduur.magix.net
Was it the previous years for tourist trips from Trogir and Split Okrug Gornji, this year proved the tourist agencies even their advice to have tents set up in the port of Okrug Gornji at the beginning of Rozac Beach. This information was given and could book trips to the many surrounding islands such as Brac, Solta, Drvnik etc.Ook before departure need not be more to the bigger places to go because there was in the port of Okrug Gornji resigned become to many tourists on the peninsula Ciovo a pleasant expansion of tourism on the island.
One of the trips was to book a visit to one of the most remote islands off the coast of Split, the island Vis.In time the Yugoslav military base and not accessible for tourists, but since Croatian independence a visit waard.Met express a fast taxi boat with skipper we glided at high speed on the Adriatic sea and came in 5 minutes to fish. So sailing is getting used to, but then still a great experience.
The visit to the Blue Grotto on nearby island Bisevo is very apart.Overstappend a small boat to go through a rotsgat 2.5 m wide and 1.5 m hoog.Plat lie so and then you come into another world with a variety with overtone colors of blue as justified. The cave is 24m long, 12m wide and 15m high .. Somewhere under water, the daylight and creates a unique phenomenon of colors.
The visit to the Green Cave Fish is on its own. The sunlight coming through a hole in the top rots.Iets less spectacular but a challenge for divers with guts. From various places of high altitude could be jumped from the rocks.
Incidentally, the town of Fish served to refuel and what to eat and daarn again with great speed to the port of Okrug Gornji.
In this town it also organizes an annual fishing festival with live music and many stalls right on the beach .. Locals provide easy visbbq and a huge pan "black risotto" cooked where at stirring a wooden oar needs. Fun to create and fill a holiday evening.

Mooi zonnig terras.
