It is the ideal base for hiking enthusiasts, mountain bikers, fishermen and peace seekers. The cottage e is located in Poupehan, within walking distance of Frahan, Rochehaut, Alle-sur-Semois and Vresse. From here you can follow many beautiful hiking trails. At the top of the mountain (about four kilometers) is Rochehaut. Rochehaut is known for the legendary viewpoint to the village of Frahan (classified village), located in a meander of the Semois.
There are restaurants, shops, museums, an animal park and a tourist train. Bouillon with its Chateau Fort, 12 kilometers from the house, is definitely worth a visit. The French border is only six kilometers from the cottage. The cities of Sedan (Chateau Fort) and Charleville Mézières (Place Ducale, Museum Rimbaud) are nice to visit. The French champagne city of Reims is a 1.5-hour drive away. You can take beautiful walks in the area, such as to the ruins of Montragut and the remains of the castle of Lyresse. To fully enjoy the hidden places of the Semois valley and admire the landscape, why not take a kayak or canoe down the charming river Semois (kayaking facilities about one kilometer from the cottage). These will take you to the most picturesque places in the Ardennes, where the car cannot take you.
The little house:
Suitable for 4 adults + 2 children. Dogs allowed in consultation with max. 4 persons.
You have a fully equipped kitchen with combi oven / microwave, dishwasher, Senseo coffee machine, toaster, mixer, kettle, thermos .... In the living room you can take a seat at a spacious handmade oak tree trunk table. Make yourself comfortable in the sitting area with a comfortable sofa bed with lounge area or relax in the charming rattan chairs. There is digital TV (Proximus), a DVD player and WiFi connection available.
There are 2 bedrooms with a double box spring. The Mezannine (rather suitable for children due to its limited height) has 2 single beds. The country-style bathroom has a walk-in shower, double bathroom furniture (handmade with oak tree trunk furniture and heritage sink). Enjoy the infrared sauna for 3 people. The chalet has a (partly covered) terrace of 85 m² with a large picnic table for 10 people, a stone BBQ and a wood-fired hot tub for 6 people.
The cottage is not suitable for children <8 years and be careful with small dogs
