For a sunny family holiday, we were able to stay in Villa Ioanna for over a week. This really felt like a privilege. The Villa is very nice with a beautiful pool and sun terrace. The outdoor kitchen with cozy family table and the beautiful view over the bay give you a special feeling of luxury. Fortunately, the weather cooperated well and we were able to enjoy this extensively. For those who have less independent children, it is good to know that the extra bedroom is really separate (under) the Villa and is not directly connected to the living area. Our teenagers had their own domain here, but with younger children this can be a problem. By the way, the beds sleep wonderfully... We really appreciated the contacts with the landlords Tinne and Werner. They have been very helpful with the booking and have answered all our questions patiently and with enthusiasm. They made the trip and stay extra pleasant with good tips and we got all the help we needed to make this holiday a reality. Regarding the inventory of the house, we have already said that it is spacious and complete. Almost everything is there and it is also very pleasant that there is plenty of crockery available. During our stay, the house was cleaned once (with linen change) and on another day the pool was cleaned once. The owners Werner and Tinne offer even more options to make the stay as pleasant as possible and to tailor it to individual wishes. We loved the location of Villa Ioanna in the village of Pogonia. Pogonia is a quiet Greek village. In the morning the sound of moving cows, some sheep and the occasional dog give a village atmosphere and tranquility to the location. Just outside the slightly more lively Palairos (which is still a jovial place, with a warm welcome for tourists). There is plenty of entertainment to be found here. Palairos has enough facilities for a daily shopping and enough restaurants for a nice and affordable dinner (our tip: "Sirtaki" a little further on the boulevard, owned by a Greek Dutchman). Palairos is easy to do by bike, although some climbing skills are required. We haven't tested/used the existing mountain bikes with electric drive, but should be able to handle that job easily. At the time of our visit, not all local facilities were yet in season. No problem for us, but if you want to rent a boat or sit on a busy terrace, for example, you will have to go a little further from home to the island of Lefkada (very easily accessible, by the way, especially when the new highway is ready for use). We had a great time with trips to Nydri and the beach of Katsiki (from the travel brochures of Greece), up to Mitikas. The route around the island of Lefkada is also well worth the drive. All in all, we spent a wonderful week at Villa Ioanna and we thank Werner and Tinne very much for their hospitality!
