Palm Village in Commewijne is a nice safe, but above all quiet place in Suriname. September was a warm month and a washing machine was really a godsend, everything else was there.
You do need a car to get everywhere, few kilometers but long journeys but then you can also see everything around you in peace. The interior of Suriname is really beautiful and pure, where you can still find original inhabitants in their culture. Met all lovely people...

We have experienced the time with Yvonne (and Roy) as very nice. They live above the apartment, but that doesn't bother you, on the contrary, it's quite cozy every now and then. Upon arrival late from Zanderij, Roy had provided spring rolls, water and beers, and he had also bought some for our breakfast. Yvonne and Roy also gave us all kinds of useful tips that we largely followed. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, the distance to Paramaribo is doable. We used taxis, which turned out to be quite affordable for us. There are also vans with a stop at Palm Village. In addition to Paramaribo, there is plenty to see in Commewijne, such as Fort Nieuw Amsterdam, and the various plantations, such as Peperpot. We made full use of the hammocks and also got manjas which we enjoyed. Yvonne and Roy also gave us very useful tips. Finally, there were the two very sweet dogs Prins and Cindy, who made our stay complete. Grantangi Yvonne and Roy!

We (Audrey&Juan) had a very nice time in the apartment of Yvonne & Regnald. If you're looking for peace and privacy, you've come to the right place! However, a car is a must if you are staying here.
The apartment is clean, spacious and above all very complete. There is also a very large garden with many plants and flowering fruit trees. The hostess/hostess are also friendly, also very hospitable. In short, all the ingredients for a great holiday are present here.
We certainly hope to go back in the future. Thank you Yvonne and Regnald and see you soon!
