The location is fantastic, right on the beach. The view from the apartment and the balcony is beautiful. There are no discos or the like, but keep in mind noise from the terraces under the apartment, where it is pleasantly busy in the evening. From Colera there are countless hiking opportunities. There are two supermarkets and the people are friendly. The area is very nice and Colera is not yet overrun with tourists. The tourists you will find are mainly Spanish and French.
The décor of the apartment is quite dated, but most of what you need is there (dishwasher, washing machine, stove, cooking utensils) and the apartment was clean. We found the condition of the beds far below standard. The beds and mattresses are very old and in our eyes really below par. We also often smelled a sewer smell in the bathroom.
The terrace is quite small, especially for an apartment for six people. Eating outside with the four of you can only do so with your plate on your lap. But also from the apartment itself the view is beautiful, so we didn't find that a big problem. The oven is also very small and not suitable for a group of more than two people. There is no air conditioning and in the summer it can be very hot. We didn't think that was a problem and knew this in advance, but it is something to realize in advance.
Positive point is the kindness of the owner at the reception. We were allowed to use the two-person kayak, which was very nice. By the way, you can also rent kayaks on the beach in Colera.
All in all, we found Colera and the surrounding area highly recommended, but because of the poor condition of the beds and the somewhat cramped balcony, we would choose another accommodation next time. The price of the apartment is relatively low, so a lot of luxury should not be expected (e.g. no air conditioning) but the basis must be good. The owners have announced that they are going to replace the mattresses. If this happens, the price-quality ratio is in order in our opinion and this apartment is a great base for a nice holiday in this beautiful region.

A stay in Colera, apartment Tramontana is a must for those who want to enjoy 100% the nature of the Costa Brava: sea and mountains meet and that offers fantastic hiking opportunities and views over the rocky coast. The very comfortable apartment has all the comforts so that you can relax after a brisk walk thanks to the view from the cozy living room on the small bay on the Mediterranean Sea.
It is also wonderful for the children: a small quiet village, the square in front of the apartment building is traffic-free, you can cycle and you have several playgrounds to discover.

What an unforgettable holiday: by train to Colera -a tiny rustic fishing village- and stayed in a beautiful, comfortable apartment with a view of the sea. The temperature was too low for swimming, but we were lucky and were able to walk on the beach and in the mountains. By train we visited the area: Llanca, Figueras and Girona. On the sunny days it was fantastic to enjoy the beautiful nature. The children enjoyed all the playgrounds and the car-free dike. In cooler moments we cooked nice and played a lot of board games. Everything necessary is present in the neat apartment and functioned well, the rooms are sufficiently spacious and the bathroom clean. Definitely achievable for repeat: next year we would like to go in the spring, when the flowers on the mountains are in bloom!
