A week of relaxation, that's what we were looking for. This worked out very well in Strohn and the surrounding area! From the former Jugendhaus we have made daily trips: nature and culture come together a short distance away. The house has large bedrooms, a nice shower and a fully equipped kitchen. For cold evenings there is the stove. We had a very nice week!

The cottage is a cozy base for all kinds of trips in the area. Almost around the corner is a river where we played almost every day with the children (building dams etc.). The manager is very nice and on arrival a bag of clean ...

The cottage is a cozy base for all kinds of trips in the area. Almost around the corner is a river where we played almost every day with the children (building dams etc.). The manager is very nice and on arrival a bag of clean goods was ready. For example, there was also a clean cooking apron, these kinds of details gave a very nice welcome feeling.
The pizzeria in the village is run by a young Italian couple. When we were there (autumn holidays) it was quiet and we could have dinner with them, again nice people!

We had a fantastic week at the Jugendhaus. Our children aged 3 and 5 had a great time in the garden and in the schoolyard.

We had a fantastic week at the Jugendhaus. Our children aged 3 and 5 had a great time in the garden and in the schoolyard.
Ideal base for a quiet holiday. There is a lot to do in the area. Although most of them do require transport by car.
The manager Dieter deserves a big compliment! We couldn't have wished for a better welcome and our children loved him.
The sofa in the living room is not very comfortable but the armchairs are wonderful.
In short, highly recommended!!

We - 2 couples - have spent the past week in the former Jugendhaus in Strohn and we liked it very much. Both the pleasant contacts - by email - with the owners and - in person - with the local 'manager' Dieter. Hospitality is of paramount importance to them and you notice that in everything. The house itself is almost perfect. It is equipped for 4 adults with all necessary facilities, fully furnished and a cozy atmosphere both outside and inside. The only - small - point of criticism is the aforementioned sofa in the living room; It's not really comfortable to sit on and if it would be my couch I would have replaced it a long time ago. But for the rest, nothing but praise; good beds/linens, furniture, shower, washer/dryer, etc. Oh yes; One more comment; It would be nice to also have an outdoor lamp so that you can also sit outside in the evening to play a game or read a book.
Furthermore, the village of Strohn is very charming and quiet. So quiet that we sometimes wondered if anyone lived there; You hardly saw any people/traffic. The surroundings are really beautiful, great for walking and cycling. There are also various nice sights and cities to visit within a radius of about 50 km.
As far as we are concerned, both the region and this accommodation are worth repeating; We had a great holiday there!

Beautiful location and accommodation. We had a very nice week, the beautiful weather played a big role in that. We made very nice walks in the vicinity of Strohn. For the two teenagers who were with us, there was less to do in the area. However, they could go to the Pulvermaar at a distance of 4 km. They had a great time swimming there. A day in Trier is also recommended, although that was still a 50 km drive. This house is highly recommended for people who love peace and quiet.

Had a very nice week in the jugendhaus! A nice house with all the trimmings. Pleasant kitchen with lots of utensils. Very good beds! Is also always important. The only downside we found was the sofa, which is not comfortable and is not really suitable for a nice movie night. Because we also have a 3-year-old, we were at home a lot in the evenings. The garden was fantastic for the children, strolling around and going down the slide. All in all, we really enjoyed this accommodation.
