In February 2017 we enjoyed using La Casa Verde for ten days. Despite the fact that the house looked a bit dated by Dutch standards, we quickly felt 'at home'. The most important things were fine. A nice sofa, a warm spacious shower, good mattresses, air conditioners in the bedrooms, a well-functioning Wi-Fi and lots of space! Pans, glasses, plates, towels, it is abundantly available.
We found it a big advantage that Willem and wife Riki live next to the house and can therefore keep an eye on things. You are with your loved ones in a strange neighborhood in a strange city on a strange island and then this gives a nice feeling. Do you have a question or problem? Just walk up to Willem and he takes all the time he needs.
If you don't just want to sit or lie in the large garden, a car is indispensable. Through Willem we had a young Hyundai Accent automatic transmission from Hot Wheels, which was delivered and picked up on time. The Dutch owner is lenient and the price is okay.
Note: The local voltage in Aruba is 127 volts! Our experience is that most of the devices we brought with us just worked, such as the chargers for phone, shaver, toothbrush. These usually operate at all voltages between 110 and 230 volts. Devices that only work on 220 volts can cause problems. The sockets are also different. They have flat pins instead of round ones. Adapters are for sale at Gamma or so. In the house itself there are also a few.
Small point of criticism: No hot water in the kitchen and that is easy when doing dishes. Now we always had to use a kettle for this.
Conclusion: If you don't need a swimming pool in the garden and want to have your own stay in Aruba for a reasonable price, then La Casa Verde is a good choice!
