We enjoyed in this lovely house! An absolute must. The house is wonderfully spacious (but not as big as it looks on the outside in the photos, just right for a family of 4 or 5) and nicely decorated: classic with style. The kitchen is new and spacious, very nice, now white and not brown like the one in the photos (early Aug 2017) a very nice upgrade.
The house has two terraces but without a roof, if the sun gets too much you can also sit on the other side of the house. But when it rains you have to go inside, where it is also delicious. Spacious living room with lovely lazy sofa and chairs. Also lots of board games and books! In the barn is a game room with table tennis table, dart board, badminton rackets. Excellent WiFi connection. Unfortunately, the pool had a green layer on the bottom so we didn't use it. It looked like a temporary problem, bad luck, and not like long-term maintenance maintenance. Probably the filter installation failed shortly before our arrival.
It is noticeable that it is nice and cool inside, nice when it is warm outside or when you come back from a trip in the area. I don't know if it often gets very hot for a long time at this location (Normandy), but then it might get (too) hot in the bedroom under the roof without air conditioning.
The garden and location are beautiful with plenty of space to play and walk around, views over stream, meadows (cows). You have to keep quiet because you won't notice anything from the neighbors. Delicious :-). In the immediate vicinity it is also wonderful to walk or cycle between the farmlands. There was a lot of grain harvested, but there is also a lot of corn, even soy interspersed with pastures with cows (and bulls). Fortunately, for the walking visitor, the French did not take land consolidation as far as in the Netherlands.
The village of Aumale is a short drive away and has a great Intermarché and in the center a delicious boulangerie-chocolatier from Anita & Bruno Hérault. There is also a market on Saturdays. However, we went to the much larger market in Buchy, very nice indeed. Especially a lot of vegetables, fruit, cheese, meat (also alive) and certainly not just clothes.
In short, lovely, beautiful, well-kept house and garden in a nice quiet location. An absolute must.
