La Forge is a simple house. On a concrete foundation, a construction has been built with metal posts and sheet metal that is a cross between a large mobile home and a summer cottage. But that's also the charm: if you don't need excessive luxury, you'll find everything you need here (and at a very reasonable rent). Okay, suddenly you remember how it used to be, when you didn't have a dishwasher. Not so bad, and so cozy. And the bed, always a surprise in France, although not king size, has a good mattress and sleeps wonderfully. What more could you want? A spacious garden? Also present. A nice shower? Check!
La Forge really stands out for us on 2 points. First, there's the great spot. What a view, what a peace, what a freedom! At night, dark is really dark, and when the sky is cloudless, the Milky Way is at its best. And secondly, there is the enormous and unprecedented hospitality of the Mulders family. In our case, we were taken care of by Didier. He really took all the time for us on arrival, we could call him day and night if we had to (we didn't have to) and he sprinkled tips for sights in the area. And there are plenty of them, some of them no more than a fifteen minute drive away. Through the owner Serge we had already received a whole package of information in advance, with city walks, overviews of markets, the history of the house, an up-to-date activity agenda and what not. Too many to mention, too many in the area to have seen it all in the one week we have been there. But you don't have to: there's a good chance we'll come back here again!
