Holiday house

Surrounded by a beautiful nature with a view of "Snowhead" (1602 m), equipped with every comfort, while retaining the atmosphere of the 150 year old farm, this house is the perfect base to visit Lower Silesia, the Tuscany of Central Europe. to discover.

The house is located in the middle of the wonderful and fascinating Valley of Parks and Castles, where you can visit 26 small castles and fortresses in various stages of completion within a very short distance.
To find out which of these castles interests you the most, visit the fantastic miniature park where you can admire more than 40 buildings that are so beautiful and similar that it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between the photos of the miniature and the real one. And a nice detail, this miniature park is within walking distance (only 2 km) from our holiday home Beztroski Dom.

Since the house is surrounded by a large National Nature Park, you can take 10 walks from the holiday resort. If you don't mind driving a few kilometers by car first, you can easily increase the number of walks to 40 (probably even more, but we walked those 40 ourselves), culminating in the walk to the top of Snowkop.

Many of those walks have been officially mapped, others have been written out by us on paper and yet others we have registered for our guests on a Garmin hiking GPS.

Beztroski Dom, which literally translates as "Home without worries", is located in a very quiet area, but only 7 km. from the house, you are in one of the most visited holiday towns in Poland, namely Karpacz. At the moment still mainly visited by the Poles themselves, but before 1946, when this part of Lower Silesia was still part of Germany, the Germans also liked to go on holiday here.

Snowhead, the highest point in the Giant Mountains, was also the highest point in Germany at the time. The town is a typical tourist stopping place with many cozy terraces, restaurants, coffee houses and bars. Classico Café is highly recommended for ice cream lovers. Fresh homemade ice cream made from fresh fruits every day.

The charming town of Jelenia Góra is only 15 km from the house. Beautiful buildings, nice shops, here too many good restaurants, cafes, coffee houses and terraces and friendly hospitable residents, in short, everything a tourist needs for a nice holiday.

In the immediate vicinity you can swim, play tennis, toboggan, ride quad bikes, horseback riding, cycling, mountain biking, golf, kayaking, rock climbing and I probably forget a few more now.
People who prefer to take it easy will also find what they are looking for in our holiday home.

A fully enclosed garden with a swing for the little ones and a swing bench for the grown-ups, a spacious swimming pool that is maintained daily, a trampoline, the necessary garden furniture and a lot of play equipment for young and old. A wellness area with sauna, whirlpool and fireplace. A relaxation room with a football table (kicker), a shuffleboard and some fitness equipment, it all contributes to a very pleasant holiday.
In the yard we have made a cozy shelter with patio heaters, so that you can continue to enjoy it quietly if it would become a bit chilly in the evening.

When we started renovating the farm in 2005, we had only one goal. This had to be the holiday home where we and our family would prefer to go on vacation. And we succeeded very well, because our children come to us every year on vacation and each time they bring some of their friends with them.

When the original house was finished, we decided to renovate the stables for ourselves, but when we got more and more demand from holidaymakers, we decided to also offer this house for rental (these are the details of this house that you can now viewing). And after the conversion of the barn into a wellness area, we started to convert the hayloft into a pleasant loft for ourselves. Later, a guest room with adjoining bathroom and toilet was added and in 2012 we finished it off with a relaxation room where we housed our fitness equipment as described above. Over the years we have also collected some 600 video cassettes, so that our guests do not have to get bored during a rare bad weather day.

All this, together with the fact that the Dutch-speaking (Flemish) owners are always present to hand over the keys to you, to familiarize you with the area and are always willing to explain the various options and activities to you, Beztroski Dom to a guarantee for a successful and fantastic holiday. OUR GOAL IS TO GIVE YOU THE MOST FANTASTIC HOLIDAY OF YOUR LIFE.

We are a Flemish couple who ended up in Lower Silesia by chance, but immediately fell head over heels in love with this beautiful region. We were fortunate to be able to buy a 150-year-old farmhouse, which we have lovingly converted into 2 very comfortable holiday homes. And now we want to let as many people as possible enjoy this piece of paradise on earth. For most of them still unknown and therefore unloved, but we want to change that.

Additional information

Make your holiday a Highlights of our doel.In 1999 we have been accidentally ended up in Poland and during that past 10 years we have almost crossed over Poland. In 2005 we discovered Lower Silesia (also called Sudetenland) and later "Valley Parks and Castles". It was love at first sight. And for dessert, we were an old farmhouse for sale. This opportunity we did not want to miss. The area was so incredibly beautiful that we have the rest of our lives wanted to spend. Every day we intensely enjoyed this gem of Mother Nature. And after a while we wanted to share it with family and friends. Later we found that we actually with as many people wanted to share, and we decided to convert the house into a holiday. It was never our intention to do something in the tourism business. We had always been on the other side, the side of the tourist, but we wanted to try. Gretchen was delighted in her, because setting is one of her hobbies. First the house addressed to a comfortable house of it, but keeping the atmosphere. And that worked great. Then we transform the stables. Also there was a wonderful holiday made. Both our Belgian and Dutch guests but also our Polish friends and neighbors are amazed with the results. And then came the biggest challenge, the fulfillment of a long dream, a spa and gym. The old barn was particularly suited to this. Large and spacious enough. For years we searched holiday with a wellness area, but they were always too expensive. Gretchen has also done a wonderful job here. Every time we use it we enjoy at 100% and the guests who until now have been used to make, were thrilled. This is really the icing on the cake. The parents in the sauna, the kids in the hot tub and fitness a few minutes each day to condition to build or maintain houden.Voor us this holiday as an unexpected gift from heaven, for we enjoy first, itself the tranquility and beauty of the environment, secondly, from the fact that our family and friends this beautiful property as a holiday offer, thirdly, of the satisfaction that our guests during their stay and radiate the words of thanks when they leave , fourth, of the friendship we can build with those holidaymakers who like us fraternize during their stay, fifthly: the joy that the children exude during their stay and, sixth from the fact that some of those who are already here have been, and then come back for a longer period of books.
We believe that we have succeeded in our goal. A holiday setting where people 100% can enjoy the deserved rest once in a year and where the same people are happy to come back because of the beautiful nature, the sights, the peace and quiet of the house and just because they enjoyed their stay . Beztroski Dom, "house without worry", is worthy of its name. Highlights of making your holiday a is our goal.
Years we have during our holiday's houses rented in different countries. And during that time we have experienced what we missed or very appreciated. It is this experience that in 2006 we have used this more than 150 year old farmhouse to renovate a very comfortable holiday, but with the preservation of the atmosphere of yesteryear. It is like going back 60 years, but with all the comforts of today. Meanwhile we have the farmhouse divided into four completely separate from each other separated parts: three houses, of which we own ourselves inhabit (the former hayloft) and two homes that we offer to our holiday guests rent (the former home and very cozy converted beast stable with upper floors ) supplemented with a wellness area in the old barn that we have placed. Above the wellness area we have a relaxation area where the fitness equipment stand. Here is a table football machine, shuffleboard and a cozy space where you can fraternize with other vacationers, so the privacy of the holiday completely and will continue if you want.
The house is completely surrounded by a garden of 40 acres. This garden is fenced, so the children can romp without any danger. In the garden there are swings for children, a swing for older children and adults, a trampoline (3.66 m diameter), a pool of 4,50 m diameter and a height of 1.07 m, a voetbalgoalen, a badminton and petanque opportunity to play in the yard. Also there is sufficient garden furniture (3 garden tables with matching benches). For the evenings you have a fire pit and torches, and of course there is a BBQ corner feature, where you have a splendid view on Snowhead (Sniezka), the highest peak in the Giant Mountains.
In 2011 we built a shed with patio heaters, where even in the cooler mountain air and cozy evenings can sit to enjoy the tranquility.
Boredom is nearly impossible if you enjoy a vacation in Beztroski Dom.De barn we converted into a wellness center with a sauna, whirlpool bath, shower, toilet and open haard.Ook is a semi-professional fitness couch and roeitoestel. In The living room has a color TV with decoder, video and DVD player. We have a subscription to TV Vlaanderen so you can enjoy your favorite programs should miss if you wenst.Ook there are a lot of books, videotapes and DVDs available, and some gezelschapsspelen.Nu we look for a good place to get an authentic shuffleboard and a vogelpikbord to plaatsen.En that all the holes to fill during your leave, because as you probably in the other sections can see there is more than enough to do in this relatively unknown vakantiegebied.Maar we think it will not be long unknown time. Unfortunately, that probably counts for the now very interesting prices asked in the shops, the restaurants and the bezienswaardigheden.Beztroski Dom, Polish for "House without worry", does everything for his name to be worthy.
When we began to come regularly to Poland, we were always told how dangerous it was Poland. Cars and papers were not safe and it was stolen when raven.Toen we rented an apartment, which was proven by the amount of insecurity locks and every car had next to an alarm also a stuurslot.Dus when growing our farm we have also on safety and played every room and corridor protected by a motion detector. And the house is monitored by a security company. Also we pay insurance inbraak.En now it comes: as long as we live here, there has never been a problem. Since 1999 (when we first came to Poland), there is only once in our car broken into and that was in Antwerp, in our beloved vaderland.Al those things are terribly overrated, but in case it ever would surely agree change, everything is there to provide for the safe house to make and houden.Ook the children we thought. These can quietly enjoy the garden, because it is big enough and taking fully fenced. It suffices that the gate closes and they can not just accidentally street lopen.Daar you do during your vacation not to worry about it.
In House 2 there is 1 parking space inside the fence and one just outside the fence. If necessary, the guests from the parking house 2 of the owners use.
The Valley of Castles and Parks has not stolen its name. There are numerous castles that were grown or which are accessible to the public. Some like restaurant or tavern, some as a museum and as a combination of the most twee.Het valley lies at the foot of Snowhead (Sniezka), the highest peak in the Giant Mountains (to admire from the garden and the living room of our holiday). The property borders one of the two national parks of Lower Silesia is rich, leaving countless beautiful walks or bike rides to be departing from our house. There are many activities in the area, because the house is just 2 km from Kowary, 7 km from Karpacz and 15 km from Jelenia Góra, all towns where there is a lot to do, all year round. The landscape is hilly with many lakes and mountain streams and also with tremendous accumulations of boulders. Through the rest there is a lot of movement of wildlife in the surrounding forests and walkers who quietly keep always the possibility of these creatures fairly close quarters.
Besides the ordinary rent of our house we offer a walking arrangement.

We are Mike and Claudia very grateful for this help.
Lower Silesia is a region that is frequently changed nationality. The last time was in 1946, when Germany changed in Poland. All inhabitants were transported, and a whole new population supplied. In the Middle Ages it was also Polish territory and King Bolkow I built several castles and churches which are different can be admired. The family Von Schaffgot was very active in this region. The ruins in Bolkow and Chojnik and the beautiful abbey with accompanying churches in Krzeszów are good examples and worth a visit. In the 18th century King William III of Prussia decided there to build his summer residence (in Myslakowice) with the result that many of his friends and nobles decided in that region also have a cottage to possess. It owes the region the name "Valley of Parks and Castles" because everyone tried to "Palac" and accompanying park even better than its neighbors. Of course, the period of the "Eastern bloc" not well done to all those "capitalist" gems. Fortunately, in recent years we have come to realize that this great heritage is not lost should let go and one is at a very high pace started to renovate this kasteeltjes.De Most of these castles are now back into private hands and therefore operated as a hotel, restaurant, tavern, museum, or a combination. We give here a brief summary of the buildings that are definitely worth visiting. This list is not complete because we are still regularly discover new gems. Schloss Fürstenstein, Zamek Frydlant (Czech Republic, but close to the Polish border), Palac Lomnica, Palac Wojanów, Palac Staniszow, Zamek Karpniki, Zamek Bolków, Zamek Chojnik, Zamek Myslakowice, Zamek Bobrow, Czarny Bór, Zamek Czocha, Zamek Wlen, Palac Nowy Dwór, Zamek Kliczków, Palac Debowy. These are just some of the visit remains of a turbulent history in an oh so beautiful piece of paradise.
Sometimes ask our guests sometimes if there are restaurants nearby to find. Especially at Flemings this question is very popular. And whenever they are surprised when they get the answer. Most people have a wrong impression of Lower Silesia, as well as restaurants are concerned. One finds here indeed many different cuisines. Italian, Tai, Chinese, German, French, Fast food, and of course Polish cuisine. As good Flemings we have them all yourself first tried, so we can familiarize you experimentally maken.En the best moment is whenever you are after a delicious meal the bill: here is outstanding. If you'd like a beer or a glass of wine wishes to drink with your meal, ask us to give you a look at the restaurant to bring, we do it with pleasure and also at a very affordable rate.
1. The limits are now fully open, so there is no control or delay more at the border post, but it is necessary to always have your identity card. If you are traveling with children, they must also be in possession of such a document. Do not forget the documents for your car.
2. We personally have never experienced problems with our car, but on the advice of Poles living in Belgium, we have from the first day a steering lock used. There are adequate (affordable) guarded car parks in the area. In our apartments there is no problem since the car (s) on the property to be parked and the whole area is fenced. We recommend that you use at night or when leaving the house the gate to close. I repeat: there's never happened, but it is still better to prevent than cure.
3. Rut with no food from Belgium or the Netherlands to Poland. You will find in Poland (almost) everything (and sometimes more) what you have in Belgium and / or Netherlands find and the price is about half or lager.Vergeet not that many large chains that have established themselves in Poland. You will include Carrefour, Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, Obi and Castorama alongside the Polish chains.
4. The fuel prices are lower in Poland than in Germany. Two kilometers beyond the border post is a Carrefour with accompanying gas station, where you can refuel at the cheapest price. It has both 95 and 98 gasoline, diesel (indicated with ON) as LPG.
5. In Germany it is compulsory to use winter tires when there is a chance that it snows. Keep in mind there in the winter. It's also required to snow chains to have if you are in the mountains rijdt.Indien to our holiday line is not necessary, since you just before the mountains with us deserves. However, if you want to go skiing (which can already at 7 km from us), then it's needed.
6. If you like walking, it is recommended to bring good walking shoes. If you have a Garmin wandelGPS, you can also feel free to bring. Then we have the various walks and local topo maps set via the PC.
7. Buy your zlotys not at home to. It is much cheaper to get your Euros here in the exchange to exchange. The difference can seriously add up.
In Bukowiec, a quiet village on the edge of a nature and at the foot of Snowhead, the highest peak in the Giant Mountains, 2 km from Kowary, 7 km from Karpacz and 15 km from Jelenia Góra, is the holiday "Beztroski Dom "Polish for" House without worry "and that is exactly what this renovated farm for you and your family can be.
Located in "The Valley of Parks and Castles" this is one of the most beautiful corners of Lower Silesia, rightly Tuscany Central Europe. But you must not believe us, come and convince yourself whether this information is correct.
We will gladly welcome you and show you around if you wish.
