Chalet in Bernese Oberland

This beautiful detached chalet is located in the middle of nature on the mountain at the end of a 1.5 km long, easily accessible mountain road (completely asphalted up to the last 150 m). From the Netherlands you can drive there in 8 to 10 hours (900 km from Utrecht, NL). It's all highway except the last 40 km. The last 40 km you drive through the valley, a normal wide road, without strange hairpin bends! You're already short of eyes here, so beautiful....

The chalet is completely secluded. There are another 8 chalets nearby, owned by Swiss private individuals, who enjoy the area themselves and do not rent it out. That makes the location unique. Around the chalet is a large garden with terrace and private parking. The view is beautiful all around. Mountains, pine trees, birds, squirrels, you name it. It's never boring!

From the spacious hall you enter the living room or kitchen through fixed doors.
The living room has a comfortable 2-person sofa with a view of the mountains. Here is also the spacious, cozy dining area. The room is heated by a heater with thermostat. It will be wonderfully warm in no time. There is no TV and you cannot stream via KPN/Ziggo, etc. in Switzerland. Netflix does work! The kitchen has 4 electric hobs, an oven, refrigerator, small table, sink, kitchen cabinets with crockery, cutlery, pans, etc. The kitchen is heated by a thermostat (electric). From the living room there is access to the small bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom is for 3 to 4 guests. There are 2 bunk beds and space to store clothes. There is a view of the mountains from the window. The windows can be darkened by closing the shutters. The beds are 2 meters long, 90 cm wide and comfortable. They are equipped with duvets and a pillow.

The bathroom has a shower, toilet, sink and centrifuge. There is no washing machine in the chalet. The bathroom is heated (electrically) by a thermostat.

If desired, you can make unlimited use of WIFI (for a fee of approximately €55.00 per week and a deposit of approximately €145.00 for the router). The WIFI works great, even when you stream with several people at the same time.

From the front door of the chalet you can take beautiful walks over the mountain tops, but you can also drive your car to the village and from there follow the marked hiking trails. There is also a golf course 200 m away on the alp. The village has a train station with a good train connection to the surrounding villages (such as Gstaad, Saanen and Zweisimmen), but also to major cities such as Bern, Montreux and Basel. By car you can drive to the villages within 10 minutes and to Bern, among others, in an hour. Outdoor swimming pools are 10 minutes away (by train or car) and the indoor pool of Gstaad is also 15 minutes away.
Here you will also find the large supermarkets such as Coop, Lidl and Migros.
In 20 minutes you can reach the beautiful Lake Lenk or in less than an hour you can reach Lake Thun.
Mountain bikers will also get their money's worth here. There are numerous paved and unpaved (mountain) routes.
If you prefer less effort, take the gondola lift to the mountain peaks in Schönried, Gstaad or Zweisimmen (there and back). Of course you can also walk or tricycle down. A unique experience for young and old (with reasonable fitness).
There is often plenty to do on the mountain tops: tobogganing, trampolines, playgrounds and/or small animals running wild. Of course there is also a restaurant for a snack.
In short, there is plenty to do in the area. Something for everyone.

In winter you can get straight to the slopes from the chalet. Car not necessary. The gondola slope is approximately 250 meters away.
Please note that the chalet is not accessible by car in winter. You bring your luggage up on skis or with a sled. In the morning you can enjoy skiing to the bakery (supermarket) in the village and take the first lift over the pristine slopes back to the chalet.
