The Grutte Fiif Safari Lodge (or 'Big Five' Safari Lodge in Frisian) is a sturdy and attractive glamping tent for up to 4 people (35m2 and 15m2 covered veranda). With silent (cold or warm) air conditioning, 2 bedrooms (double bed and a bunk bed), a bathroom with shower, toilet and sink and kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and Nespresso. And a normal front door with lock.
The park has a reception, open-air swimming pool (depth approx. 70cm), playground, laundry, recycling center and Oan't Wetter restaurant.
The safari lodge is spacious, so it is also wonderful on a rainy day. Inside you will find a TV with Chromecast, children's toys and there is secure private and free WiFi (max. 10Gb per day). There is also a kitchen, dishwasher, coffee maker, Nespresso, microwave, kettle and large refrigerator with freezer compartment.
As the only safari tent in Grou, our covered veranda (with mood lighting in the evening) has an extra outdoor kitchen and a sheltered spacious backyard with Weber BBQ and beautiful sandbox .
The unique outdoor kitchen has a gas stove (as well as grill plates) and an electric pancake maker. Enjoy cooking outside while the rest of the family sits on the veranda or plays outside.
The lovely backyard has a seating area, dining table with 4 chairs, a Weber BBQ and a nice sandbox.
In the attractive glamping tent you really feel like you're in Africa because of the decor and photos on the wall. But you will also discover photos of the grutte fiif (big five) of Alde Feanen National Park here. The Alde Feanen is a beautiful National Park: rent a boat or take a bike for a beautiful trip through this nature and discover the 'grutte fiif' yourself.
The Safari Lodge is centrally located in Friesland, near Grou and many other nice Frisian villages and towns. So there is always something fun to do...
Two bedrooms with excellent, new mattresses
The master bedroom has a double bed (160x200) and a clothes rack. The other cozy bedroom has a bunk bed with excellent mattresses and an open cupboard. All beds have single 4-season duvets. The sheet sets are ready.
There are sockets everywhere!

Grou and surroundings
Our safari lodge is located on the island and water park Yn'e Lijte. This island is connected to Grou by one bridge and a ferry. Grou is a lively and pleasant water sports village in the middle of Friesland.
The island of Yn'e Lijte is located in the watery area of the Alde Feanen National Park. This environment invites you to go fishing or go out on the water with your own or rented boat.
During the summer season you can also cycle a beautiful '8 van Grou' cycle route - or the ferry route. A beautiful tour that takes you through beautiful nature and where you will encounter various ferries and attractions along the way. Recommended!
You can rent a bicycle nearby, and there is an electric cargo bike for rent. Ask at reception.
