The house (a 'casa di corte') is located at an altitude of about 250 meters in a beautiful green hilly area, the Colli Berici. Due to its high location, it is a lot more pleasant in the summer than down in the valley, it is always a few degrees cooler. Due to the thick walls, the house has a kind of natural air conditioning. There is a spacious living room of 30 square meters, with a cool tiled floor, with a large fireplace and wood stove. Following this there is a utility room and a practical kitchen. The kitchen is simple, but everything you need is there. It includes a large refrigerator, oven, stove, washing machine, Nespresso machine, microwave and kettle.
A staircase leads to the first floor via the utility room. This ends at the top of the landing. Here is a spacious bedroom with a nice large double bed and a bathroom with sink, shower, toilet and bidet. The floors of the upper floors have a single wooden floor that, due to the action of the wood, creaks here and there when you walk over it. From the landing another staircase goes up to the attic floor of approximately 40 square meters, with two single beds. Over time we replaced all the floors and floor beams, deliberately keeping the house simple. At the front of the house there is a veranda where you can sit quietly. The corte itself is a mixture of old and new. For example, the house on the left has not been occupied for years, while on the right there are two beautifully restored apartments. Opposite the house, on the other side of the corte, is an antique hay barn/stable, which has not been used for some time and is awaiting restoration. There is no garden, but if you walk out the front door and take the path diagonally opposite the house, you can walk straight into the hills and woods. Seen from this perspective, it is a very large garden. The house is located on a dead end road, which is only used by the people who live on and behind the square. It is a beautiful area for walking and there are great climbs and descents for the sporty cyclist. There is also a beautiful golf course nearby, with a lovely swimming pool that is also accessible to non-golfers on weekdays. The house has two mountain bikes and there is also a golf bag for enthusiasts.
Vicenza, Venice, Verona, Padova and Bassano are easily accessible from Perarolo. The house therefore offers a unique combination of nature and culture! Few foreign tourists come to this area, you are really in the Italy of the Italians.
For foodies there are plenty of excellent restaurants nearby. Mainly Italians come here, so quality is assured!
