Cala de Mijas, 5 minutes drive with a promenade for long walks along the sea, interrupted by a snack and drink in one of the chiringuitos
The terrace on the south side has the sun early on, even in the winter months when the days are shorter. And lovely chairs to relax and enjoy the view.

Holiday homes in Benajarafe

Benajarafe is a quiet seaside town on the Costa del Sol, approximately 20 km south of Málaga. Benajarafe is not as well-known as the popular holiday resorts like Torremolinos and Marbella, but it has still got plenty to offer for a wonderful holiday on the Spanish coast. Benajarafe shares the beach with the town of Valle-Niza, which is 15 minutes down the road, and because of the lovely climate, Benajarafe is an excellent holiday destination the whole year round. It hasn’t got as many facilities as the more famous seaside resorts, but all you need to relax is sun, sea and sand. Other nice places and sights are practically around the corner, and there are a few nice boutiques, restaurants and welcoming cafes, so there are plenty of options for shopping or going out in the evenings.

Enjoy yourself in summer and winter

Because of the pleasant climate, a holiday home in Benajarafe is a good choice all year round. If you rent a car, you’ll be able to easily explore the local area. Further inland is La Sierra, a beautiful mountainous part of Andalusia, and you should definitely visit one of the ‘pueblos blancos’, the characteristic ‘white villages’ which are so typical in this region. A good example is Comares, a beautiful place with strong Moorish influences. Comares is built on a rocky plateau, the plateau of Mazmullar, from which you’ll have a breathtakingly beautiful view of the surrounding area. The white-painted houses with coloured window frames and ornate chimneys are all worth a picture.

  • Benajarafe is not far from the El Torcal de Antequera nature reserve, where you can go for a lovely walk or a bike ride.
  • Because of the special rock formations, El Torcal is also called the ‘pancake mountains’.
  • If you like to play golf, you can go to Baviera Golf in Caleta de Vélez, Añoreta Golf in Rincón de la Victoria and Parador de Málaga in Málaga.
