Apartment 2

We have two one bedroom apartments upstairs at the Zendo, located on a 56 acre property in the beautiful Alta Garotxa Nature Reserve. It is simply and tastefully furnished and suitable for two people. From the open plan layout of our double apartment you can enjoy the beautiful mountain views from the lounge, dining table and bathroom with shower. In winter, the wood-burning stove creates a cozy atmosphere. Electricity is supplied by our solar panels and the water comes from our own well. This is a very popular walking and cycling area for nature lovers and peace seekers.

REST - MEDITATE - DISCOVER in Les Gavatxes. Immersed in the nature of the Alta Garrotxa, Les Gavatxes is an ideal place to come for an individual retreat or for a quiet, relaxing holiday in our self-sufficient location (electricity from solar panels, water from our well, vegetables from our garden).

You are welcome to use our Zendo (meditation/yoga room) for your mindful exercises. Our location is within easy reach of good walking and cycling routes, there is a natural pool for swimming and a river running through the estate. You can wander through the forest or simply discover the ruins of our medieval castle, or simply stay in our main square under the mulberry tree, or in the garden to enjoy the view or read a book.

Les Gavatxes is located in the natural reserve of the Alta Garrotxa region, in northern Catalonia. At 660 meters we are nestled in the lower Pyrenees with the highest peaks visible and not far away. The area is rich in wildlife and each season has its own beauty. The Alta Garrotxa region, due to its diversity and exceptional environment, is considered the most important area in the eastern pre-Pyrenees. There are many hiking trails in the area for all levels of difficulty and experience. Besides hiking, La Garrotxa is also one of the best places for cycling in Catalonia, as well as tourism to the beautiful medieval towns, such as Beget and Castell Follit de la Roca.
