Not far from the casa you can reach the beach of Torre de la Horadada (part of Pilar) via the Rambla, a car-free walking and cycling zone. Also in Pilar de la Horadada is the beach of Mil De Las Palmeras. This beach is known for the exceptional quality of its water. We are Bart and Cindy from Belgium. In 2019 we decided to purchase a new-build home in Spain, which was completed in March 2020. Our house is located in a quiet neighborhood, and the private pool and solarium provide an instant holiday feeling. The proximity of the town, the markets, the sea and the golf courses ensure the ideal location. That is why we are happy to rent out our house to people who are looking for these assets.

Golf enthusiasts can indulge themselves at the various golf clubs in the region.

There are some beautiful nature reserves in the region where you can enjoy the peace and quiet and the fauna and flora. The Ruta Senderismo Rio Seco, a dry river bed, is located 5 km from our casa and is definitely worth exploring. Accompanied by a good pair of walking shoes, you can choose between 2 distances through this bed. Or the Sierra de Espuna Park in Murcia. A must-see for the nature lovers among us. You can walk, tour and much more. The salt lakes of San Pedro del Pinatar, or La Mata., the park in Guardamar, are all some pleasant gems to walk and enjoy what nature has to offer.

Whether by racing bike, mountain bike, regular bicycle or electric bicycle, you will find plenty of opportunities in the region to get out and about. If you prefer a relatively flat route along the sea line, or rather the hilly interior or the longer climbs in the mountains, you will find it in the vicinity. The more inland you go, the more intensive course you will find. There are also some nature reserves where mountain bikers or gravel bikers can indulge, for example, you will find some beautiful, challenging routes at the reservoir. You can also find plans for recreational cycling routes at the tourist office. There is also a 60 km long cycle path that runs right next to the N332, this cycle path connects Torrevieja South with the Mar Menor. You will also find plenty of opportunities to rent bicycles, this can be done through our key manager or directly with bicycle rental companies (for example, border bike hire). You can rent all types of bicycles.

Spain is also known for its excellent wines. This is due to the favorable climate for viticulture. The region is known for the Monastrell, Garnacha and Syrah grape varieties that grow there. There are several wine estates nearby to explore.

San Pedro del Pinatar is located next to Pilar de la Horadada where you can walk along the Mar Menor and the salt lakes. You can enjoy the fauna and flora, walk on the dike, eat and drink something in the local restaurants or admire the view from El Rubio 360°. San Pedro del Pinatar is also known for the wellness centers (Talasoterapia y Spa) and the “Banos de lodo”, the mud baths where you can pamper your skin with the beneficial effect of the mud. You can also do many water activities and the little ones can enjoy the water toys in the sea and the playgrounds on the beach. The Mar Menor also begins in San Pedro del Pinatar.
