The villa "Casa Ospelia" is located at the foot of a hill on the edge of the village of Casfreires. The unspoilt nature and beautiful villages are characteristic of the typical Portuguese rural culture. The locals almost immediately win your heart through their simplicity, charm and hospitality. Flora and fauna lovers will get their money's worth: there are wild orchids, birds of prey, swallows, snakes, boars, foxes, mimosa, broom, heather and lichens to admire.
The city of Viseu is 28 km away, with a beautiful historic center, but where a hypermodern shopping center has also been built. There are many entertainment options and a large weekly market. There is a beautiful 18-hole golf course on a hill just outside Viseu. The view is formed on one side by the city of Viseu, on the other side by the Serra da Estrela. This mountain range is about an hour's drive away and is a beautiful nature reserve.
The coast of Portugal is about 1.5 hours' drive away. There are beautiful sandy beaches near Aveiro.
Historical cities such as Porto and Coimbra and the port wine region along the Rio Douro are easily accessible via modern highways and are worth a day trip. From Brussels, Lille, Charleroi, Eindhoven, Maastricht and Weeze, you can fly cheaply to Porto with Ryanair, among others.
