The accommodations of Les Chambaudies Sud, loosely translated: the beautiful southern countries, are located in the large forest of Fayat, an old deciduous forest with a rolling landscape. It is on a very quiet country lane and serves just a few houses away. No through traffic, because the road runs in a circle.
Nestled in a fold on the south side of the old hill fortress of the Puy de Bar, now with its chapel and lookout point. This is a beautiful, unspoilt corner, lost in France.
The great charm of this area is the beautiful nature: the forests, lakes and streams and the tranquility. Literally hundreds of lakes are hidden between the wooded hills. Streams and small rivers cross the forest. Endless miles of forest trails await you, where you can see wild boars or deer.
The area is a bird watcher's paradise with its majestic birds of prey soaring above the trees. The woods and fields are filled with a fantastic variety of birds. Birdwatchers will be amazed at the array of birds that can be seen from the terrace.
In the village of Chateau Chervix (3 km away) there is a village shop, post office, bank and bar.
Magnac Bourg is 12 kilometers away. Here is a supermarket, bakery, doctor, pharmacy, bars and several restaurants. There are several interesting places to visit for a day trip. Information about this can be found in the cottage. For example: zoo, castles, prehistoric sites and caves, gardens, beautiful natural sites, medieval villages, river valleys (Dordogne, Vezere) and much more!
There are also sports activities nearby such as horse riding, swimming, tennis, canoeing, cycling, climbing, ziplining.
The English owner's living quarters are on the other side of the road. This means he is available for help and advice if needed, but he also knows how to be discreet! Expect English hospitality with French conviviality.
He also knows what to do in the area.
