Ängarna is an ideal base to get to know Sweden. All seasons have something to offer. Go on an adventure in the area and enjoy the tranquility. In consultation we can determine what the right season is for you. Ängarna is located on the highest point of Rumskullahult between meadows and forests.

Ängarna is a typical Swedish location. There are two holiday homes on the large residential area: the gästhus (maximum 8 persons) and the stuga (maximum 6 persons). There is also a basic log cabin and a play tree house in the residential area.

There is plenty to do and experience in the area. On Ängarna there is a tree house, play equipment, mountain bikes, canoes and a campfire place. In the summer months, various cultural festivals and activities are organized in the region. You can also visit several places nearby, such as Vimmerby, Eksjö, Västervik.

It may be that during a prolonged drought, "open campfires" may not be made if the local authorities have imposed a fire ban.

The Klerx family has been coming to Sweden since the 1970s. For many years they traveled south to north and from east to west through Scandinavia. They fell in love with this country. In 2006, Ängarna caught their eye. A lovely place, on top of a hill and with lots of space. To allow others to enjoy this special place as well, two outbuildings have been converted into typical Swedish holiday homes.

 Included are:
  • Use of bed linen and towels.
  • Detergent for dishwasher and washing machine is also included
  • Consumption of wood for wood-burning stove.

  • Use all other facilities (e.g. canoes, mountain bikes, barbecue)
Cancel

If, for whatever reason, the tenant is unable, unwilling or will not accept the rented property on the agreed date, he must immediately inform the landlord. A telephone notification of this must always be confirmed in writing or by email to the lessor.

 If the tenant cancels the agreement in the period up to 4 weeks before the start date of the rental period, he will still owe 30% of the rental price; in case of cancellation up to 2 weeks 50% and from 1 week up to the start date of the rental period 75%.

If the tenant only announces on the commencement date or during the rental period that he will not use the rented property (anymore), he will still owe the full rental price.

- Swimming (for example in the many lakes such as Hemsjöbadet or in the sea at Västervik);
- Canoe (we have a 2-person sit-on-top, an open Canadian canoe (2 adults + 2 small children) and a 1-person kayak;
- Mountain biking (a few mountain bikes are available);
- Cycla dressin (cycling on the track). You can rent bicycles in Hultsfred and Viserum.
- Hiking in the many national parks, such as the Norra Kvill National Park or following hiking tracks such as the Sevedeleden;
- Many animals live in the immediate vicinity, such as moose, deer, wild boar, lynx, foxes, pine martens and badgers. You will find many small bird species. But also cranes or large birds of prey such as ospreys, buzzards and owls.
- The chance that you spot a moose in the neighborhood is high;
- There are several moose parks;
- Climbing at Trollegata: a 40 meter high rock wall with different climbing routes.
- Kleva Gruva: visit and discover an old copper and nickel mine (near Vetlanda). Recommended to discover with children;
- Sweden Zipline: Little Rock Lake (near Växjö);
- Golfing (there are two golf clubs in Vimmerby: Tobo Golfklubb and Vimmerby Golf);
- Frisbee golf course in Eksjö and Hultsfred, for example;
- Visit sports competitions and events (e.g. speedway, ice hockey, and cultural festivals);
- Fishing (you need a fishing card);
- There are several museums in the region such as the IKEA Museum in Älmhult;
- In the region there are glass museums and glass workshops, each with their own character.
In the area
In the region you will find various restaurants and supermarket chains with a very extensive range. Discover products and brands you don't have at home.
Most large supermarkets are often open daily between 07:00 and 23:00. Except on holidays.
A neighborhood supermarket and a bakery are 6 km away in Mariannelund.
Ängarna, like many Swedish homes, is connected to a safe natural source for drinking water supply.
Spirits are for sale in the Systembolaget in Vimmerby, or catering.
However, you are allowed to bring a fairly large amount of alcohol (wine/beer) across the border (Sweden is an EU country).
There are plenty of restaurants nearby serving Swedish specialties such as fruit pies Swedish meatballs or cinnamon buns. Delicious, especially with the fika, the Swedish coffee moment! i
You can put together your own bag of sweets in every supermarket.

The hot dog, Korv, is a popular snack in several variations. You have special fast food places where you can get korv, and you often find them at gas stations and in supermarkets. Sibylla is a well-known fast food chain and offers everything. From the Swedish classic boiled sausage with bread to complete menus with burgers, meatballs, chicken, kebabs and much more. There are other fast food restaurants in the area: Mr Burger, Subway, Pizzeria & Grill.

Tip: Dagens rätt, days lunch or also days in short, is a full meal for an affordable price during lunch hours. A very cheap way to eat out.
