Three hours' flight from Amsterdam is one of the most attractive holiday areas in the Mediterranean. Andalusia became known for its sunny beaches with 320 days of sunshine a year and a fantastically pleasant micro climate. But there is so much more that one vacation can never be enough to get to know the environment. The South East coast, where the high wild mountains of the Sierra Nevada rise from the sea, houses one of the most beautiful places on the Costa Tropical: Fuentes de Almuñécar.
The holiday home is a wonderful family stopover between the avocado plantations. Through the narrow roads, where you leave the beautiful beaches and pleasantly busy boulevards, you drive in a few minutes from the beach to Casa El Balcón.
The district was built about 10 years ago and is fantastically located with a magnificent view of the Mediterranean sea on one side and the rugged foothills of the Sierra Nevada on the other. The district is surrounded by plantations with mangoes, avocados, papayas and the local cherimoyas. In summer the ideal place to avoid the bustle of the beaches.
Within 200 meters you walk between plantations on rural roads. The district is 800 meters from the sea and 2 km from the charming old town of Almuñecar.
The Fuentes de Almunecar district is nice Spanish with many children playing around the pools and on the street. The Casa has a beautiful terrace and two balconies that all offer a magnificent view over the Mediterranean sea and the valley. The terrace has sun all day, but also plenty of shade spots. A gentle breeze always ensures the welcome cooling.
The spacious terrace is the heart of the house. It has the perfect shadow spots on hot days, with a long dining table and cozy seating around the outdoor kitchen. On cooler evenings in the winter you burn a wood fire on the BBQ place and then it stays warm under the porch until late. The swimming pools are both 2 minutes walk and only accessible for young children. The beautiful grounds of the infinity pool always have sun beds free with views over sea and mountains and has supervised supervision in the summer. The smaller pool (still very spacious) also has great views and is open from April to December.
The house has 3 floors. This creates a spatial whole so that two families can stay in the house with all privacy at the same time. All amenities are as the landlord wants it: new furnishings, good quality, clean & fresh and very nice beds!
This coastal strip has a special micro climate: never too hot in the summer (max 33 degrees) and very mild in the winter, so you can also eat on the beach. Skiing at over an hour's drive, the prehistoric caves of Nerja, the wine regions of Jeta and of course the fantastic southern Spanish cities of Jaén, Cordoba and Granada. The old parts of these cities are just like hundreds of years ago and because the cities have the Unesco Heritage status an undisturbed future is guaranteed. At the foothills of the Sierra Nevada (3478m) lies the valley of Almuñécar, for centuries the center of olive groves and fruit growing (cherimoya, avocados and papayas). Here you will find rugged nature and unique Spanish villages, just a short drive from the bustling capital of Andalusia: Malaga.
