We are celebrating! La Cala del Moraig has received one of 696 blue flags that flutter on the Spanish beaches this summer. This blue flag is an award that is awarded annually by the Foundation for Environmental Education to the beaches and ports that comply with a series of environmental regulations and installations. At the foot of Cumbre del Sol, between the more than 100 meters high cliffs is Cala del Moraig. The crystal clear and intense blue water excels because of its purity and quality: an ideal place for a swim. The beach consists of sand and boulders, is 250 meters long and the surrounding natural beauty is unparalleled. One of the many attractions of Cala del Moraig are water sports such as sailing, diving and deep sea diving that attract dozens of visitors to the coast every day. It is an ideal place to discover the marine environment of the Costa Blanca. The coves are surrounded by hiking trails that lead to many caverns and natural caves that open onto other coves in the area. In addition to its enormous natural beauty and high water quality, Cala del Moraig has also been awarded the blue flag for its excellent facilities. You can enjoy a refreshing cocktail or delicious tapas in the beach bar by the cove or sunbathe comfortably in one of the hammocks that are rented out there. In addition, the cove has its own first aid station, vehicle access and parking, a cleaning service and step rental to guarantee a fun day for young and old on one of the best beaches on the Mediterranean. The mountains of Benitatxell are characterized by limestone in which hollows and other beautiful geological formations can be found such as the "Cova dels Arcs", a natural wonder and the gateway to the Ruta Submarina of Cala del Moraig. La Cova dels Arcs is a space with three natural arches through which an underground river flows to the sea, a true pleasure for divers and speleologists. Within the arches a route starts where you can dive in the different tunnels that are inside. So far about 1000 meters have been discovered and about 62 meters depth. The Riu Blanc flows through it, the main groundwater layer of Benissa, towards the sea. La Cala del Moraig is not the only beach in the area, nearby you will also find Cala de los Tiestos, or Cala Llebeig, small beaches at the foot of Morro Falquí, which you can reach via a walking path or the sea. The beaches near Cumbre del Sol are a true paradise on the coast where you can enjoy the nice weather of the Costa Blanca and the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
