Away from mass tourism, this holiday home offers you beautiful views of the impressive mountain ranges, the fertile hilly landscape, the white villages, the Mediterranean Sea and the coast of Africa.
Set in a mature garden with terracotta tiled terraces, greenery, flowers and with a beautifully tiled private swimming pool with shower.

PEARL OF PEACE IN A PARADISE SETTING
Quiet location with privacy, near the Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama national park (walking, cycling, horse riding, bird watching etc). The park is a natural border between the provinces of Málaga and Granada.
The detached villa is located halfway between the beautiful white towns of Canillas de Albaida and Cómpeta. The villa is quietly located at the end of a small road with no through traffic. Unlike many holiday homes in this area, the entire access road is paved. A short steep (paved) bit down takes you to the villa.

* We have renovated and furnished our villa with love and care. We therefore only want to rent the villa to people who are willing to treat our property with respect. By booking with us you indicate that you are willing to do so and that you will act accordingly.
Smoking in the villa and on the plot is prohibited, pets are not allowed and we do not accept groups of young adults.

THE VACATION HOME :
The villa is approximately 145 m2 and consists of:
- An entrance (security door) with coat rack.
- A bright sitting/bedroom.
- Large modern kitchen with granite countertops, dishwasher, double sink, 5-burner gas stove, extractor hood, electric oven, large fridge-freezer, microwave, coffee maker, Nespresso machine, toaster, etc. and table for 4 people.
- Dining area with table for 8 people.
- Spacious living room with wood stove, comfortable seating furniture, flat screen satellite television with Dutch channels, DVD player, CD player, iPod docking station.
- Hallway to 3 bedrooms and the bathrooms.
- Total 4 bedrooms (2 with large double bed, 2 with 2 single beds), all with comfortable mattresses; the mattresses in the king-size bed in the master bedroom are 2.10 m long (!), the other mattresses are 2 m long. Duvets available.
- 2 modern bathrooms (1 en suite) with shower cabins, sinks, bidet and toilets.
The villa is on one level (bungalow); there are no stairs.

EXTRAS :
* There is free wireless internet.
* The main areas (living room/dining room/kitchen, master bedroom, sitting room/bedroom) have air conditioning units for warmth in winter and cool in summer. Fans also present. There are also electric radiators everywhere for cold times and the lounge has a large wood-burning fireplace. The house is therefore suitable for wintering.
* The windows are equipped with shutters, bars and mosquito nets. All windows have double glazing.
* There are spacious fitted wardrobes and plenty of storage space.
* There are (board) games and reading books in different languages available.
* Smoke detectors installed.
* Outside there is a laundry/storage room with the washing machine.

THE PLOT :
The whole is oriented to the south.
There is a large covered veranda that leads to the terracotta-tiled terraces, both with areas in the sun and in the shade, where you can relax and sunbathe with lots of privacy. Enjoy the amazing sunsets here! There are garden furniture and sunbeds. There is a beautiful, tiled barbecue area.

The tiled private swimming pool is 7 by 3 meters (careful with children!), not including the beautiful steps. There is a beautiful outdoor shower. The pool is NOT fenced, so be alert with small children. It can be used from approximately the end of April to mid-October (in winter the pool is empty).

The garden is green all year round due to the irrigation system. You will find a tangerine tree, a lemon and an orange tree and even a 200-year-old olive tree. The surrounding plots are also full of orange trees, avocados, olive trees, among others. Irresistible!
The plot is fenced, with a gate at the entrance. There is parking for two cars.

Smoking and pets are not allowed.

We are a Dutch family with two adult children. We fell in love with this beautiful region and bought this wonderful holiday home because of its spacious layout and beautiful, peaceful location close to the natural park. Our children like to be there too.

Explanation of prices

Maximum 8 guests; only guests registered with us are allowed to stay on the plot.
The 7th and 8th guest each pay € 150 per week extra. Children/infants count as adults for the number of guests. When booking, please state the number of guests for adults.

Linen (no beach towels), internet, normal use of gas, water, electricity, and pool maintenance are included. An energy surcharge applies in the winter months.

Changeover day in the summer preferably Saturday, so that no gaps arise, otherwise flexible.

There is no possibility of cancellation. No money will be refunded (except for the deposit).

You arrive in a clean and well-kept house. You (and your group) must behave as a good tenant. The rented property must be left in good condition, neat and tidy. Kitchen (equipment) must be clean, the dishes done, and all waste disposed of.
If during the rental period something of the rented property is broken, damaged or lost, you must report this to the manager, so that we can take care of repair.
The deposit will be refunded one week after departure, less damage caused by your actions or omissions, including additional cleaning costs. Damage above the deposit amount will be charged to you.

We accept no liability for damage of any kind incurred during or as a result of your stay in our villa. This also includes all damage due to personal injury and/or other damage due to accidents in or around the villa (including swimming pool accidents), due to theft and loss of objects and/or due to (the failure of) gas, water, electricity, internet or ( defective) equipment and/or due to natural disasters. In any case, we cannot be held liable for more than the maximum total rent paid by you. We advise you to take out adequate travel and cancellation insurance.

The national park with La Maroma (highest mountain in Málaga, 2,065 m), the 'pueblos blancos' (white villages), Frigiliana, Nerja (caves), the beaches, Málaga, Granada, Lake Vinuela, Marbella, El Torcal Natural Park, Gibraltar /Morocco, Sierra Nevada, Córdoba, Ronda, Seville, etc.
The holiday is between Canillas de Albaida and Cómpeta in. Canillas de Albaida, with a population of around 700 people, is located about 580 meters above sea level on the slopes of the Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama. The village is 10 minutes walk from our villa. There are a couple of small supermarkets, bars and restaurants. Cómpeta is situated 17 kilometers from the coast of the Costa del Sol (beach, water park, golf) and more than an hour's drive from Malaga airport. There's several times a day a bus of Canillas de Albaida and Cómpeta to the beach and Malaga. The villa is 2 km from Cómpeta, a more touristic town with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars. Cómpeta is known as the pearl of the Axarquía. The place is known to many for its locally produced wine, both dry and sweet. Cómpeta has numerous annual fiestas including the Noche del Vino (Night of Wine) on August 15. ACCESS: To reach our villa quickly from the Netherlands can (cheap) flights to Malaga with Ryanair (from Eindhoven, Dusseldorf-Weeze and Brussels), Transavia (from Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Eindhoven), Easyjet, Vueling, Tuifly or Air Berlin. Then it is wise to hire a car, you drive to our villa in an hour. See our Dutch website for more information.

The Axarquia is a great area for walking; you hardly meet anyone. The first five photos show images of walks to the Fabrica la la Luz (Canillas de Albaida-Archez), to Competa, a coastal walk at Maro, El Saltillo, a walk at Otivar but there is so much more choice.
There are hiking books and maps in our house.
Cyclists can also indulge themselves. If desired, you can rent mountain bikes or road bikes. Golf enthusiasts have a choice of several challenging courses nearby. Nice tee off with a view of the sea... You can play tennis in Competa, but there are also various options for yoga, pilates, spinning, etc. And of course you have all kinds of water sports options on the coast. The slide park will be a great prospect for the children.
Of course you must have been to the Alhambra in Granada. All of Andalusia is a source of cultural wonders. But also closer, even within walking distance, you will encounter the fascinating history of this region in all kinds of places. The beautiful ceramic images in the photos can be found in many places. A work of art, a procession, you can suddenly be surprised by it.
