For those looking for peace in a simple authentic environment, Bayacas is ideal. Birds, goat bells, barking dogs and the sound of the water break / deepen the silence here.In spring and autumn you can make endless trips right from the house, on foot or on horseback ( and cart), which you can rent in the village. You can get even warmer by paying on the concrete pitch down in the village. And rest or socialize at the hangout of the elderly habitants on the benches under the trees in the square.
The village itself has no permanent facilities. Bread, fruit, vegetables, frozen foods, fresh fish, household goods, gas bottles etc. are offered on the front parking lot in the village at certain times / days (loud honking).
Other amenities such as cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, medical clinics, swimming pools etc. can be found in Orgiva a 10 minute drive or 25 minute walk along the river.
Easiest and cheapest approach route is Malaga,by the car a 2-hour drive to Bayacas. Even with public transport it is possible to travel to the village. One straight bus leaves at 15.00 from Malaga busstation and arrives in Orgiva at 18.00, where you change on the waiting bus, who arrives 10 minutes later above Bayacas. There are plenty of busses going from Malaga to Granada. From there you take 3 times a day a bus to Berchules, who stops in Bayacas.
