Monte Gordo is a village in the region of Santo André das Tojeiras. Sarzedas and other villages with a nice lunchroom are nearby (choice of meat or fish). A bus runs to Castelo Branco three times a day during the week.
Castelo Branco is located 35-40 minutes from Monte Gordo. With McDonalds, swimming facilities, gardens, churches and other sights and dining options. Every first Saturday of the month there is a street market in CB. Many supermarkets, a library and bank. There are no shops in Monte Gordo. Every Saturday the baker comes with a bus (with a horn) to Monte Gordo.
