De Groese Zeewinde

For a wonderful holiday with your family or friends, you can rent a beautiful accommodation in Zeeland Flanders, close to the beach (2 km) and located in the friendly village of Groede. The house is very comfortably furnished and offers everything you need to enjoy a wonderful holiday. The house is suitable for 6 adults and possibly 2 children. Is there a baby or toddler? We will then provide an extra cot and high chair.

What does this accommodation offer?

This authentic house from 1910 is located on Voorstraat in the historic village of Groede. The modernized house contains nice authentic details, such as the mansard roof, stained glass windows and an old fireplace with a wood stove. The front of the house is located on the street with the center of the old village a 2-minute walk away. The house has a well-equipped kitchen with ceramic hob and oven, which is ideal for cooking. The kitchen opens into a beautiful conservatory with two large sliding doors to the sheltered terrace and the cozy garden. In the garden you can look out over meadows with horses from a second terrace. In the distance you can see the dunes. You can eat and barbecue in the garden, but in bad/colder weather the conservatory is a great place to eat, play games and relax. The dining table offers space for 8 people. A covered corridor runs along the house, ending in a closed shed. Here you can safely store your bicycles. There are 6 sleeping places for adults and 2 sleeping places for people not taller than 1.75 meters (possibly children). Upon arrival you will find all beds comfortably made with a rural touch. Two large bath towels are available for each person. And have you accidentally forgotten your beach towel? They are in the cupboard. Upstairs you will find a large master bedroom for 2 people, which can accommodate a baby/toddler bed and a bathroom with shower and toilet. You will also find a smaller bedroom for 2 people. From this bedroom you also have access to the shower and toilet. The sleeping attic can be reached via a solid extension staircase. Children will love sleeping in this “tent with its own lights”. Downstairs, a sofa can be folded out into a comfortable double sofa bed and the room can be shielded with a curtain for privacy. Because the living room has two seating areas, the sofa bed can be left standing during your stay. There is also a shower and toilet downstairs. The living room has a cozy wood-burning stove, which can be heated next to the central heating in cold weather. You also have access to a television with internet, WiFi connection, books, games and craft materials for the children. Do you have a pet? Please discuss with us how we can give it a nice place.

Limited availability from January 1, 2024. Due to new rules from the municipality of Sluis, we are not allowed to rent our house for more than 28 nights. Rental is possible in the specified period until the 28 nights have been reached.

What is there to do in the area?

The house is within walking distance of the village with various dining options: from culinary, cafe and ice cream parlor to snack bar with takeaway options. More and more artists are setting up small studios in Groede and the surrounding area, which are fun to visit. Groede is centrally located: cities such as Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp can be reached within an hour by car. Breskens, Cadzand and Sluis are always pleasant for a drink or snack and easily accessible by bike. And with the ferry from Breskens you can reach the other side in 15 minutes, where Vlissingen and Middelburg are already waiting for a visit. And not tired yet? The land of Saefthinge, the delta works, Hulst, Veere or Zierikzee are also worth a visit...... There are beautiful nature reserves for walkers and cyclists and of course the beach remains wonderful to visit in all seasons. You will find a beautiful clean sandy beach with the characteristic Zeeland pile heads and an extensive dune area, bordering the extensive polders. Beach chairs are available to relax on the beach. Did you know that many birds live, breed or migrate in these areas? So bird watchers: visit Waterdunen'. Please note: a visit to 'Waterdunen'. The beach pavilions are also open at weekends during the winter months to warm up after a long walk or bike ride. Don't hesitate anymore, just come and enjoy!!

Our target group is:
Anyone who loves the beach and nature, such as walkers, cyclists and bird watchers or wants to be active, mountain bikers and water sports enthusiasts or families with young children and/or babies, people over 50 who are looking for peace and quiet! The main tenant has the minimum age of 25 years. Our house is less suitable for disabled people.
