Impression

Wake up in the sun, get fresh rolls and have breakfast in bed. View of the dunes. And no one to see you. How wonderful is that!

Sink down on the lounge sofa on the apartment-wide balcony terrace and watch the sun set behind the dunes, while you roast a satay on the electric BBQ.

Getting some fresh air (with dog) on the beach. And then curled up with your sweetheart on the couch, warm yourself with a fresh Latte Macchiato and watch a movie. Or some time for yourself: soothingly relaxing in a hot Whirlpool bubble bath. With our waterproof tablet loan you can watch your favorite series with Ziggo, Netflix, HBO and Disney+ accounts.

Passing time? Free Wi-Fi, Dolby Surround, DVDs, games, puzzles, (cooking) books, magazines. Doing laundry or culinary cooking in the kitchen.

An impression: Dolce Gusto coffee cups and tea, dishwasher tablets, cleaning products, detergent. Candles, pepper, salt, sugar, oil and spices. First aid kit, fire blanket. There are several cycling routes in the area. Think of: - Rondje Kop van Noord-Holland, via 't Zand, Den Helder, Julianadorp and Callantsoog - Cycling route "Rondje Geluk", in which residents of Schagen have designated their places of happiness. The cycling route connects these places of happiness. - The West Frisian Omringdijk route; 143 km long, but you can also do a lot. Many museums can be found on the route. You drive along the IJsselmeer and Markermeer and past various cities and villages, such as Hoorn, Alkmaar, Schagen and Medemblik. - The Stolpen Route; cycling along farmhouses in Schagen and Surroundings. You can find these and more cycling routes at: https://indekop.hollandbovenamsterdam.com/te- doen/f Fietsen-in-de-kop/
In the immediate vicinity of Callantsoog there are 3 walking routes (from 6 to 11 kilometers) and do not forget Kooibosch and nature park "Het Zwanenwater". It is so beautiful there. In addition, there are various walking routes in the Kop van Noord-Holland. You will find the overview below:

Callantsoog

Kooibosch,
the former duck decoy behind Callantsoog. The trees are allowed to grow carefree and there is an open piece of blue grassland: a very rare type of nature in the Netherlands. The green woodpecker and birds of prey breed in the forest.

The Zwanenwater,
in the middle of this protected nature reserve you will find the two largest natural dune lakes in Western Europe. The unique dune landscape contains an exceptional number of plants and animals. Two walking routes of 2 or 5 kilometers.

The Red Route (6.3 km)
takes you along the "nolletjes" (low dunes), wet land of the Uitlandsche Polder and the rugged Zijperzeedijk, built in 2014 by Natuurmonumenten.

The Purple Route (6.5 km)
takes you via the beach to the salt marshes of the Zandpolder, the wet landscape of Venne, the Nollen van Abbestede and in the spring along the flowering bulb fields of the Jewelpolder.

The Black Route (11.4 km)
consists partly of the Purple Route supplemented with a walk on the Reiedingijk, Noordschinkeldijk and Jeweldijk.

Kop van Noord-Holland

The Helderse Duinenroute (15 km)
was named one of the four NS walks in 2019. You pass the art project "de Nollen", which is hidden in a dune area, various fortresses from the time of Napoleon, Dutch defenses from the Second World War and the former Rijkswerf full of maritime history and museums. Furthermore, a 15-meter-high observation tower with a view over dune valleys and pine forests. You may encounter tough Scottish Highlanders and Konik horses along the way. Also look at https://www.wandelnetwerknoordholland.nl/startpunt/startpunt-de-helderse-vallei/

Wadden area
One of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands, the Waddenzee, begins in Den Oever. This special ecosystem with mud flats and sand flats, oyster beds, salt marshes and beaches stretches out completely and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Here you can walk, bird watch and sail.

Circular walk Westerland from Wieringen
Wieringen was an island until 1930. Rolling greenery, hedgerows that protect cattle and cyclists from the wind and the sea, historic farms, picturesque villages, winding roads and the sea always close by. You will also pass old boulder bumps, where a Viking treasure was found at the time. Perfect to discover on foot or by bike.

Pettemerduinen
Here you can take a sheltered walk. You have bushes, heaths and dune lakes. Look out over the polder and the sea from the high dune tops. Who knows, you might spot rabbits, foxes, ermines and the black Galloway cattle.

West Frisian Omringdijk
A jewel in the landscape in the eternal battle against the water. The many polders and mills are proof of this. The 126-kilometer-long dike has meandered through the landscape for centuries. Experience for yourself what it is like to stand on a dike with higher water on one side and the lower land on the other.
