Holiday house


Our house is a characteristic farmhouse that is simply furnished for a maximum of 4 people. Inside it has a small living space (kitchen/diner). Outside there are four large terraces: an open terrace, a shade terrace, a small terrace where the morning sun rises and a terrace covered with vines next to the living room with a large dining table.

The garden is beautiful. You actually stay at an (organic) vineyard with many different types of fruit trees and we have a vegetable garden every year that you can eat from. It really is the combination of getting back to nature, being able to be somewhat self-sufficient, but with the responsible pleasures of modern times such as good Internet (fastest Internet in the valley), a dishwasher (and washing machine) and a well-equipped kitchen. The house is located near the coastal town of Ventigmilia (about eight kilometers inland; 30 minutes from Nice airport) and 2.5 kilometers from the more famous village of Airole. We are there as much as possible, but during the periods when we are not there, we rent out our home (but not in winter).
The mild climate is fantastic. In fact, the area is protected by the Alps from winds from the North. The mistral and similar winds do not occur in our valley.

The house has three bedrooms and is spread over three floors. The basement (which guests have little to do with) is a work space, where there are 4 bicycles that can be used. The first and second floors can be lived in almost separately, making them ideal for a holiday with friends and/or older children who occasionally require privacy.
It is located on an attractive and authentic site of 1000 m2 with terraces bordered by walls, is beautifully overgrown with old vines, many different types of flowers and different types of fruit trees: figs, tangerines, plums, lemons, apricots, oranges, apples and pears. can be eaten to your heart's content. We also grow our own organic vegetables: from potatoes and onions to zucchini, beans, aubergines, many types of lettuce and also bananas, khakis, pomegranates.
It is well exposed to the sun (even in spring and autumn there is sun almost all day), but there are also plenty of shaded areas.

The area is a walking paradise with walks for beginners to difficult mountain walks for experienced walkers. Walking maps are in the house. The landscape is very varied. Each height level has its own characteristics and special plants.

Our house is also an excellent base for trips to the beautiful small villages in the mountains. Medieval villages hidden between the flowery coast and the rapidly rising rugged Alps. And our house is also an excellent base to visit cities such as San Remo, Imperia, Nice, Menton and Monaco and so on.

A 5-minute walk from the house you will find "our private" beach on the Roya, which is excellent for swimming. Even in the middle of summer, the water at our beach (real sand!) is deep enough for that. And the Mediterranean Sea is only 15 minutes by car.

It is an excellent place for walking, swimming and enjoying the peace, culture and nature.

Note: The house is not located on the road. The last 30 meters to our house is a footpath (made of stone) that goes up quite steeply. As a 70 year old I have no problem with this path, but for people with physical problems this can be an objection.

We have our farmhouse since 2001 and it was love at first sight. A love that is not over yet.
We are in Noceire as often as possible (with a preference for spring and autumn), we work a lot in the garden (we make about 350 liters of wine per year), walk a lot (we still do not do all walks in the area ) and in the summer we really enjoy our own private swimming spot by the river.

Note: These prices are for 2 people per week. For more than 2 people: the 3rd person for 50% of the price per person (that is 175 in high season and 137.50 in low season) per week and the 4th person for 25%. The calculation that is automatically performed for a stay of more than 2 people is generally incorrect. An example: A week with 4 people in high season: 700 + 175 + 87.50 = 962.50).

The deposit will be refunded immediately after the end of the stay, unless damage has occurred during the stay that has been discussed between the tenant and the landlord (or caretaker).
