A garden has been landscaped around the house with fruit trees, palm trees and lawn. There is also an olive grove and private parking.
Inspired by the view of Olympus (the mountain with eternal snow on the other side of the sea), we decided to give the three apartments names of gods. Mount Olympus is, as everyone knows, the mountain where Zeus and 11 other gods live.
Hence:
- Apartment Afrodite (goddess of love and beauty) is the apartment on the first floor
- Apartment Apollo (god of light and music) the "main house" on the ground floor
- Apartment Artemis (goddess of the hunt) is the holiday home next to the main building.
Villa Tikozidis is the place for people who want to go on holiday with family or friends, but still prefer to have their own place. The three apartments are separate homes with their own entrance, each with its own living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. Privacy is guaranteed.
But of course you also want to have fun together! This is perfect in the communal garden, because living outside and enjoying the beautiful weather together is very important in Greece.
All apartments have large balconies. There is a large barbecue with seating and a covered gazebo for eating.
At the bottom of the cliff is "our" beach. It can be reached by walking towards the village and then walking right onto the beach at the Athos tavern. Walking distance about 400 meters. The beach slopes gently, making it also suitable for children. Because there are parts with vegetation and stones, snorkelers also get their money's worth.
It is a pleasant stay in villa Tikozidis and the surroundings of Nea Iraklia, but it is highly recommended to also explore Halkidiki and Thessaloniki.
What there is to see is listed below under the sights.
In the area surrounding Nea Iraklia you will find agricultural land, wine plantations and holiday homes owned by Greeks from the city of Thessaloniki. The atmosphere is typically Greek and you will encounter few foreign tourists.
It is a small village with a harbor, fish restaurants, a few cafes, a bakery, butcher, supermarket, pharmacy and a large Orthodox church.
The large sandy beach of Nea Iraklia has become increasingly popular in recent years. In the summer, various beach bars are set up and there is a lot of life. There are also quiet places for those seeking peace and quiet.
The area is hilly right down to the coast. Further inland are the Holomondas mountains.
Epanomi is 13 km to the north and Kalikratia is 12 km to the south. These are larger villages with more shops and nightlife. There is also a weekly market.
Thessaloniki airport is only 35 km from Nea Iraklia. There are direct flights from Transavia (Amsterdam) and Ryanair (Dusseldorf - Weeze and Brussels). Transfer to and from the airport is possible.
