The Feriendorf in Frankenau, located in the Sauerland, is an ideal place to spend your holiday if you enjoy walking in unspoiled nature, cycling in the great outdoors and visiting medieval Hanseatic towns such as Fritzlar and Korbach. There is also a natural swimming pool in Löhlbach, a few kilometers away, and a beautiful swimming paradise in Bad Wildungen.
The Edersee, beautifully situated in the hills, has an extensive animal park with a playground where the little ones can enjoy themselves.
This is just a small selection of possibilities that you have to make your holiday an unforgettable one with our authentic holiday home as "home base".

We rent out our detached 6-person holiday home "Ferienhaus Erica" in Feriendorf Frankenau with Wifi and digital TV.

Location
Ferienhaus Erica is located on 500 m2 of private land, has a spacious sunny south-facing terrace with a large picnic table and a garden table with six chairs.
The house offers an unobstructed view of the Ferienhausdorf.

We offer Wifi and TV for free.
In addition to the regular heating, the house has a wood stove and we offer free wood for this.
There is a private parking space in front of the holiday home.
Please bear in mind that the holiday village is located in the hills and that you must have good mobility to overcome differences in height. The holiday home can be reached by car within 10 meters.

Environment and activities
The center of Frankenau is 2 km from the holiday home with various shops and restaurants.
The Kellerwald/Edersee National Park (UNESCO World Heritage) is a five-minute walk from the holiday home, ideal for hiking and cycling/mountain biking tours.
Nearby historic towns include Frankenberg, Bad Wildungen, Korbach (shopping), Frizlar, Kassel and Marburg.
Other attractions in the area are:
The Edersee with dam, water park, sailing and swimming possibilities, Schloss Waldeck with unique view, Wildpark Edersee with birds of prey show, and Eon Uniper Standseilbahn with great view.
In Wildpark Frankenberg (free) it is possible to walk among the deer and feed them. There is also a nice playground.
In Nieder-Werbe there is a Sommerrodelbahn Edersee with an extensive playground.
In Bad Wildungen is the swimming paradise Heloponte.
Strandbad Vöhl-Asel Süd has a 70m long slide, children's paradise and sauna.
In Winterberg there is Kartbaan Neu Astenberg and in Niedersfeld there is an outdoor track.
There is a skating rink in Willingen (also in summer).
There are winter sports options within 45 minutes by car in Winterberg and Willingen.
For some time now, the park also has a café with tetras and a mini market where, among other things, fresh rolls are available.

Explanation of prices

Our prices include WiFi, water, wood for the wood stove during normal use, digital TV, pet (€20 for extra cleaning costs) and private parking.
A free cot is available, but please bring your own bedding for this cot.

You do not pay any reservation fees, booking fees or tourist tax.


Payment of the rental sum:
30% of the rental amount is due within 7 days of receiving our confirmation of the reservation request.
The remainder of the rent is due no later than 30 days before arrival.

On arrival:

Please report to the Sonny's Fincke Eichhörnchen restaurant at the entrance to the holiday village from 3 p.m.
They check in and out with you and take the meter readings.
You must provide a possible ordered linen package (€15 pp) to be paid in cash.
You will receive the key to the house there.
The electricity costs, €0.50/kWh, will be deducted from the deposit and the remainder will be refunded to your account within a few days after your stay.


Cancellation policy:
In case of cancellation you will receive:
Up to 30 days before the start of the rental period: 80% of the rental price.
30 days to 14 days before the start of the rental period: 50% of the rental price.
14 days to 7 days before the start of the rental period: 25% of the rental price.
7 days or less before the start of the rental period: 0% of the rental price.

Arrival time: from 4:00 PM, or otherwise in consultation.
Departure: between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM, or in consultation with the local caretaker.

Hutewald Halloh with age-old beech trees. Kellerwaldsteig and Urwaldsteig are 2 large walking routes that can also be walked in stages. There are many signposted walks to make. More information about this can be found in our holiday home. Bicycle and mountain bike routes are among others indicated as Edersee ER routes. You can cycle from our holiday home through the woods to the Edersee. A large part of the route runs directly along the banks of the Edersee and can be used if necessary. be combined with a boat trip.
Das Tolle Haus Am Affoldernersee is located in Affoldern. Everything in the house is turned upside down. Also nice restaurant and playground for the children.
Aquapark Edersee is a water playground where children learn how to influence the course of the water. With suspension bridge, water wheel, waterfall, etc.
Outdoor amusement park for the whole family, with Summer toboggan run. No entrance fee, some attractions small contribution. Toboggan run 850 m. Long, trampoline, euro bungee, knight tower with a view, etc.
200 m above the 27 km long lake stands Waldeck castle. From the freely accessible terrace you have a fantastic view of the Edersee and the wooded mountains of the "Nationalpark Kellerwald-Edersee".
The Waldecker Bergbahn is the shortest connection.

Edersee-Atlantis. At Asel Sud is part of the Edersee Atlantis, namely an old bridge that was flooded by the arrival of the dam. Frankenberg has beautiful half-timbered houses and a historic Altstadt. The special Rathaus from 1509 has 10 turrets. There is also a fountain area where children can play in and with the water. Bad Wildungen, a typical German Kurort with beautiful altstadt with narrow streets and many half-timbered houses , beautiful shops, Schloss Friedrichstein and the largest Kurpark in Europe with 22 sources and flamingos. It attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.

Korbach is a hirstoric town with medieval center. In the new part it is very good shopping.
Marburg is a historic university town with a nice shopping center and an old castle on the hill. Well worth a visit.
Kassel has many sights, old palaces, large parks and museums. World Heritage Site Wilhelmshohe is the most popular tourist destination, a palace and a park for tourists with beautiful fountains, water play and a large number of temples and even ruins of a Chinese village see. There is also the "Löwenburg" castle. The Karlsaue Park and palace are also very interesting.
Fritzlar, is a typical small town with old half-timbered houses on the market square and a cozy pedestrian zone. Around the old core a city wall with towers.
Schloss Arolsen is an 18th century baroque-style castle located in Bad Arolsen. The castle served as a residence of the Waldeck-Pyrmont family until 1918. Queen Emma van Waldeck-Pyrmont was born here in 1858.
Winterberg and Willingen are well-known winter sports resorts. The ride to Winterberg through the Hochsauerland offers a number of spectacular views. The highest mountain (841 m) of the Sauerland the "Kahler Asten" is in the immediate vicinity Winterberg The Astenturm observation tower can be climbed and from here you have a breathtaking view. In the summer endless hiking possibilities through the heathland.
