Apartment

Naturehouse Luppbodemühle Blue

In the middle of nature; clean Air; quiet without traffic noise and a starry sky without residual light.
Here is our former water mill from 1776 with a rich history on a private property of 2.2 hectares with its own stream, the Luppbode.
De Molen is located on an unpaved road and the authentic mountain village of Allrode is within walking distance (for daily shopping).
This large apartment is the only one that welcomes pets, a maximum of 2 dogs. A very spacious and modern apartment for 2-7 persons on the ground floor at the large garden with a beautiful view. The apartment is light and luxuriously equipped. The holiday accommodation is on the ground floor except for 2 steps of a small staircase from the hallway to the living area.
Our mill is located in the heart of the Harz and all activities are close by.
Nature in the Harz is rough and pure with tranquil mountain villages and romantic half-timbered towns; a steam train network and stalactite caves with theater performances.
We are walker-friendly and are happy to inform you about walks and provide you with tailor-made advice. We lend map material.
The village of Allrode has no ATM and also for larger groceries you have to go 11 kilometers away.
There are excellent bus connections and when you pay your tourist tax you will receive a card for free use of the bus network in most of the East Harz.
Allrode does have a petrol station and electric charging is possible at the nearest point in Thale.

We are Paul and Erna. Dutch people who fell in love with our region; the Eastern Harz mountains. In 2006, we have our Mill, which we have kept the historic name purchased. With great enthusiasm we have renovated the property to introduce our guests with the beauty of this area. As of July 17, 2014 we have 4 apartments for you and we finally emigrated. We have worked hard to provide you with a comfortable and contemporary stay.

Location & area recommendations

Additional information

The Harz Mountains, Germany’s most northerly mountainous region, is a paradise for walkers. As rich in natural beauty as in legend, this is one of the most accessible areas in Germany for the walker, easy to reach by road and rail from North Sea ports, served by excellent local public transport, with a choice of accommodation and criss-crossed by superbly waymarked forest and hill paths, to make walking a delight even for the least experienced. But the region’s cultural heritage is equally fascinating. Ancient ore bearing rocks brought Saxon Kings and Princes to seek its fabulous silver, copper, iron and lead, creating towns whose medieval splendour survives. The mining heritage is still to be seen in the landscape but does not dominate or destroy a natural beauty worthy of one of Europe’s newest and most distinctive National Parks around the legendary Brocken. There is an extensive Nature Park, countless smaller Nature Reserves, ancient forests and deep gorges where wild boar, deer and wild cats roam. You’ll also find in the Harz, Europe’s largest and most extensive narrow gauge steam railway network, a delight for railbuffs and nostalgics alike, providing superb, car-free access to some of the area’s finest walking country.
The Luppbodemuehle has been mentioned in history as a water mill from 1776 and guests have been received since 1925.The rural, hilly area of the mill has been well preserved over the centuries and today is a paradise for walking. The mill is located in the middle of 3 nature reserves. This gives a variety of mountains, rock massifs with the beautiful river Bode, but also the open terrain of rolling hills and chalk landscapes. Both the novice and the experienced hiker will get their money's worth. Walking without a barrier. The mill is located directly on an old walking path, which connects the Hexenstieg and the Selketalstieg.
From the frontdoor cross-country skiing or snowshoeing.
Relatively short distance for full alpine skiing or snowboarding. The mountains of the Harz are very suitable for the novice and the experienced skier.
Nordic trails are everywhere and the sledging downhill is a favorite activity, especially the children have great fun with.
If you are looking for a ski area where mass tourism has not struck, maybe this is a discovery.
Combine a stay with for example a few days Berlin. For 30 euros return journey by train from the nearby station directly to the center of the city. Leave your car with peace of mind and we deliver and collect you from the station in Thale. In consultation with us, you can arrange your accomodation in Berlin through us if you book for 3 nights in our mill.
You arrive for example on Friday and on Sunday you travel to Berlin by train.
On Friday or Saturday then travel by train back to Thale, where we pick you up and you stay 1 or 2 nights with us before the homejourney begins.
