The detached, four-person holiday home, with its living room, separate kitchen, 2 bedrooms, a hall and a bathroom, is not large (55 m2), but it is attractive and fully equipped. The cottage is beautifully situated at an altitude of 500 meters in a green nature park within walking distance of the village of Lissendorf in the Volcanic Eifel. Around the house is a spacious garden (420 m2) with a sunny and sheltered terrace. Plenty of privacy, but not isolated. The bakery and supermarket are approximately 2.4 km away. It is an ideal place for those looking for peace, enjoy sporting challenges (mountain biking, hiking, golf, tennis), are looking for a unique winter experience or just want to recharge for the hectic everyday life.
The park is located against an, originally, wooded Eifel slope, where space was made in the 1980s for private (holiday) homes with spacious and tree-filled gardens. The house is reached from the communal parking area via an illuminated footpath (40 metres). Due to its location against the hill, the holiday home has a playful character on 2 levels. It is comfortably and modernly furnished and is centrally heated. The German wood stove provides the authentic atmosphere and with the (free) WIFI and satellite television (Dutch channels) contact with the outside world is never far away. A great place for those who don't need anything. Those who need to get rid of energy can enjoy the challenging mountain bike trails and the varied hiking trails across meadows, through forests and villages. Nature already starts in the front yard. In winter there are (limited) skiing and cross-country skiing opportunities about 25 km from Lissendorf.
In contrast to the Belgian Ardennes, the Eifel is relatively unknown to the Dutch, which is actually strange because the area is just as close and is at least as beautiful. Unique too, with its old volcanoes and round crater lakes. Moreover, the Eifel is less overrun by tourists, there are affordable restaurants, fresh-looking villages with houses in pastel shades and bakeries with a huge variety of delicious bread. In addition to the varied nature, there are also nice trips to be made. From Lissendorf you can make (half) day trips to castles (Manderscheid), small museums, zoos, breweries (Bittburg) and beautiful half-timbered towns such as Bad Munstereifel and Kronenburg. With the Eifel-Express, the interesting cities of Trier and Cologne can be reached in 1½ hours from the station in Lissendorf. And the Eifel residents? They are just hospitable, helpful and don't make things difficult.
