The property :
Our detached house, where we have been living permanently since mid-2018, is located on the outskirts of B irgel. After purchase we have extended the house with 4 dormer windows so that all sides of the view can be enjoyed.
It has three floors on the street side and two on the backside because it is on a slope.
In the back garden, which at the end turns into arable land, there are fruit trees under which it is wonderful to rest in the shade. The garden is accessible outside and through the outside stairs from the apartment and has several seating areas.
There is a wooden terrace on two sides of the house.
As far as insolation is concerned, we have no complaints on top of a mountain. If it shines we have it all day!
You can enjoy a beautiful sunset every evening, if the sun shone that day, of course.
The street where we live is a short distance after our house in an unpaved road that leads to farmlands and forests. So you are almost directly in nature from the front door.
Our house consists of three apartments of which we ourselves inhabit the middle.
They are connected to each other via the stairwell, with stair gates.
The app. is located on the second floor and can accommodate six people.
In the app. there are two spacious bedrooms (box spring) and one smaller (trundle bed), each for two people, a bathroom with toilet, bath and separate shower, and a living room-kitchen with balcony. A balcony with a beautiful view over Birgel and Lissendorf. Through the balcony is the garden located at the rear with an outside staircase.
The apartment is fully equipped. To be called:
Kitchen with:
Electric cooking, oven, dishwasher, fridge (including an American fridge with freezer and ice maker), coffee maker, kettle, electric juicer.
Living room with:
Dining bar, sitting area, wood stove, TV, wifi.
Recreation:
For swimming you can go in the immediate vicinity to several indoor and outdoor pools (including Schalkenmehrener Maar, Gerolstein). For water recreation there are the Freilinger See or the Kronenburger See.
Of course, a visit to wildlife parks, museums, and a nice city such as Kronenburg, Reifferscheid, Bad Münstereifel, Hillesheim, Bernkastel Kues, Blankenheim, Trier, Altenahr, Monschau, Prüm and Echternach are also recommended.
The building is also the ideal starting point for hikes, bike rides or a visit to one of the many attractions in the area.
Under the headings; National Park Eifel, Nature and Geopark Vulkaneifel, Eifelsteig,
Vulkaneifelpfade, Trailpark Vulkaneifel, can be found for the cyclist as well as for the walker.

Coming from the direction of Venlo, the motorway after junction 109 AK Kreuz Bliesheim is practically yours and that one hour from Heerlen!
Coming from the direction Antwerp, the motorway after Verviers is already empty!
The flora and fauna in the Eifel have a large degree of biological diversity. This is partly due to the large differences in altitude in the low mountain range.

The Eifel is one of the most fascinating holiday areas that can be reached from the Netherlands within a few hours. From a landscape point of view it has a lot of natural beauty and is very varied. The Eifel hides many historic towns that are worth a visit ..
Even in winter, a stay in the Eifel is more than worth it.
For winter sports you can also go to the Eifel. There are facilities for skiing, cross-country skiing, tobogganing and of course winter walks.
Of course, winter sports can not really be compared with winter sports in, for example, southern Germany or Austria. But there is enough for a lot of winter sports fun and all that close to home!
