Holiday house

l'Ancienne Gare, the whole station

Something very special! An old train station that, while maintaining the authentic atmosphere of the past, has been converted into a lovely holiday home with all the comforts of now.

It is spread over 2 floors of 140 m2 in size. Both the ground floor and the upper floor have a separate entrance and there is a connecting door that can be closed.

The property is detached, with a large garden (1750 m2) and a terrace across the width of the 23 meter wide property. That terrace is of course the old platform and overlooks the guardhouse across the road (no longer existing). You do not have to be afraid of being woken by the train, who has not been driving since 1952! At a distance of 250 meters, the Agriculture Co-operative is located, which normally does not cause any nuisance, but in the harvest time (before August, for May of October) it has a lot of activity.

You enter the entrance hall, which is still in its original state, with the beautiful old advertising posters, enamelled signs and the desks. However, there is space for a work table and the television corner with flat screen and DVD player. There are also a lot of DVDs and there is a nice library.

The large living room with fireplace has a nice lounge area with lounge area and a dining area with seating for 8 people. The spacious kitchen is equipped with all modern conveniences and the shower is fully renovated. The two bedrooms are located on the left side of the station, the first adjacent to the living room, the second adjacent to the entrance hall. They are furnished with a double bed, a linen closet and laundry facilities. The sofa at the TV can be folded into a double sofa bed.

There is another terrace next to the guardhouse and adjacent to the forest edge. This sheltered place with pergola has a solid barbecue and a large dining table.

The apartment on the first floor was formerly the home of the Chef de Gare and his family. It has its own entrance and offers 3 bedrooms for up to 8 people.

Also here is a spacious living room, attractively furnished and with a fantastic view over the Saône valley, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and fridge and a spacious bathroom with walk-in shower and bathtub.

The unique property with its palpable culture and history. The clean air, the peace, the space and the beautiful nature. The charm and simplicity of the 'campaign', the French farmland. That made us want this adventure. But the fact that the nicest French now seems to live just in this region makes us feel so at home. We would love to share this hospitality: Bienvenue sur les Vosges, welcome to l'Ancienne Gare! Christine

Additional information

Monthureux sur Saône is in the Vosges, on the border with the departments of Haute Saône and Haute Marne. An area through its hills, fields and forests is also called the Tuscany of France. The Vosges is more than 42% largely mixed production forest with both deciduous and coniferous, the most forested region of France. Ecotourism is also an increasingly important factor in this area. RECOMMENDED! Check out: A special holiday guide for the departments of Haute Marne, Haute Saone and Vosges. Here you will find numerous ideas for day trips, activities, sports and recreation, restaurants and nightlife.
The area is great for hiking and biking. For tour bikers and cyclists is beautiful asphalt, for mountain bikers many forest roads and hills and far away mountains. For cyclists and walkers routes. There is a riding school 4 km away. The Vosges mountains form the border with Alsace, and are 3 minutes drive away. 'S winter, you can ski (Gerardmer and La Bresse -Honeck, both 85 km are quite sure of snow with 59 slopes and lifts up to 1250 m altitude) and in summertime walk or cycle. There are two national parks in the mountains with peaks up to 2,400 meters (Le Grand Ballon). For golfers there Ermitage famous golf course in the town of Vittel sources. This golf course which was already opened in 1905 is located 25 km from the station. It is now part of Club Med but is also open to other guests. Despite the fact that the job of the finest in France is counted, it is never really busy. There are three courses: The 18-hole course Mont Saint Jean (6236 yards, par 72), a hilly course. ? The 18 hole course "Peulin" (6100 yards, par 72), a wooded course and the 9-hole Compact Course which no CFP required.
There are several restaurants in the area. From simple to luxurious. The Vosges and Haute Saône no wine regions. On a single vineyard after you depend on the neighbors: Alsace, Burgundy and Champagne. But these are all three two-hour drive away and are so fine to visit on a day trip. The capital of the Vosges, Epinal is 50 km. easy to drive and well worth it. That even includes the cities of Langres (75 km), Nancy (90 km.) And Dijon (120 km.). Vide grenier, Briq a-brac, foire d'occassion or how the flea is called, it is a familiar part of French culture and also is very popular in particular Dutch. In the summer months there is every weekend a close.
