Hello, we are Guido & Ottolina.
We have been coming to the South of France every year for more than 30 years and we continue to enjoy it, every year we discover something new. It remains our favorite holiday destination, even though we have traveled all over the world.
Years ago we made our dream come true and became the proud owners of the holiday villa with its own vineyard. We have completely renovated the house in recent years and furnished it attractively.

CANOEING IN SOUTH FRANCE Provence is ideal for canoeing, both for the trained canoeist and for families who want to canoe with the children. You can canoe on the various rivers in Provence such as the l'Argens, but you can also go canoeing in the Gorge du Verdon and on the coast of southern France. CANOEING WITH THE FAMILY There are several possibilities for canoeing on the river d'Argens between Carces and Lorgues. This is also very doable for the less trained canoeist. This is especially recommended with children! In the months of July and August, the water of the river L'Argens is fairly low, making the river good for peaceful canoeing. You can do 2 different canoe trips. A long and a shorter trip, where you will be picked up by a bus at the end point. Below a photo impression of the canoeing in the south of France. New evasion provence canoe is located between Lorgues and entrecasteaux: LE PLAN DE PARDIGON, D562, 83570 Entrecasteaux Saint Antonie du var https://naturevasion.com/en/ https://fareharbor.com/embeds/book/naturevasion-stantonin/ items/?flow=561370&full-items=yes&back=https://naturevasion.com/en/ https://naturevasion.com/en/saint-antonin-du-var/ Also at the Gorges du Verdon (45 min drive from Lorgues) there are several canoeing possibilities on both calm waters and on the wilder parts of the river Verdon. With children it is advisable to canoe or pedal boat where the Gorge du Verdon ends in Lac st Croix (see photos on the left). The current is not strong here and you can enjoy swimming in the lake or river. The water has a fantastic azure blue color, that alone is worth seeing. Coming from Lorgues/Tourtour it is best to follow Moustiers st Marie, then you will arrive at the place where Gorge du Verdon ends in Lac st Croix. Moustiers st Marie is also a really nice village to visit. (see photo on the right) For more information about the activities in the Gorge du Verdon or at Lac st Croix, also look at: http://www.net-verdon.com/ en/index.htm EXTREME CANOEING AND RAFTING The Gorge du Verdon is also very pleasant for those looking for more action. You can go whitewater canoeing, rafting, abseiling, bungee jumping, etc. This mainly takes place on the east side of the Gorge, close to the village of Castellane. https://www.secret-river.com http://www.rafting-castellane.com/index.html The weather in the south of France is also ideal for canoeing, only the months of July and August can be very hot in South of France, so don't forget to bring plenty of water. for canoeing
MOUNTAIN BIKING AND RECREATIONAL CYCLING IN PROVENCE: A nice starting point by mountain bike is the “Train des Pignes”, an old train track that runs through the entire Provence to Nice. Not all parts are passable anymore, but the largest part is doable even for the less experienced mountain biker/recreational cyclist. Also from Antibes to Nice a very nice cycle path runs along the coast. Train des Pignes A good starting point is Lorgues (Coordinates 43.498636,6.352394), there you have two routes: Chemin des Train des Pignes Ouest. It runs west from Lorgues past the villages of St Antonin and Chateau Mentone, past Salernes to Aups and on towards Lac st Croix. Chemin des Train des Pignes Est you can go on. It runs east from Lorgues past the villages of Sauveclare, past Flayosc to Draguignan and on towards Les Arcs to the coast. These are routes full of old viaducts, beautiful olive groves and vineyards. Because the old railway had to be fairly flat for the trains, it is easily accessible and it is usually right through nature, giving you a good idea of authentic Provence. Cycle path from Antibes to Nice The cycle path from Antibes to Nice is also recommended. It is located entirely along the coast, so you can enjoy the beautiful viewpoints and the sea. You will also pass several beautiful beaches and restaurants, so you can combine it with a nice lunch. The cycle path is largely flat and 70% separated from the carriageway. The trip from Antibes to Nice takes 1.5 hours there and 1.5 hours back. See also: http://www.fietseninfrankrijk.info/nice.htm OFF-ROAD MOUNTAIN BIKING IN PROVENCE: The Provence is extremely suitable for off-road mountain biking. There are thousands of trails that run right through nature. It is best to discover the beautiful routes yourself with the GPS, but to give a few tips here are a few recommendations: Lorgues Taradeau Thoronet: You start in Lorgues where you descend via the Chemin de Frejus to the chapel "Notre Dame de Florieyes" . Then you can cross through the Bois de Astros to Taradeau. You drive via chateau Rasque all the way up to the viewpoint at the top of the mountains of Taradeau. Then you descend into the village and continue the road inland to Vidauban. Then you drive along the river L'Argens via Le Thoronet back to Lorgues. See the photo impressions below. ROAD BIKES IN PROVENCE: Road cyclists will also get their money's worth in Provence. There are many beautiful routes to drive. It is recommended to leave early and take enough water with you, as it can be really hot in the summer for the averages per month. March, April, May, September and October are excellent cycling months. Provence, including the villages of Draguignan, Lorgues, Cotignac, etc., has been the setting for the Tour de France several times. The flat roads are interspersed with a few steep sections here and there. The ideal area to test the skills. For those who really want a challenge, it is recommended to drive from Lorgues to Tourtour and possibly further to Lac st Croix. This is a route where the way there is almost 100% climb, the advantage is that the way back is a breeze. There is also a very nice route from Lorgues via Brignoles to Pierrefeu, see also: http://www.routeyou.com/Lorgues/ There is also a very nice route from Aups via Entrecasteaux to Cotignac, see also: http:// www.routeyou.com/Aups/
Do you like hiking and Provence? The Provence in the south of France is ideal for a nice walk. Within a small area there is a great variety of nature. Below are the walking routes that we recommend. These have been chosen in such a way that you can experience the most beautiful places in Provence with the greatest variety of nature. WALK 1 DOMAINE DE CHATEAU D'ASTROS (JUST OUTSIDE VIDAUBAN) You can enjoy a fantastic walk here for about 1.5 hours. This walking route is also doable with children. You walk from the parking lot along the D48 between Lorgues and Vidauban (Coordinates 43.43547,6.410265). From there you walk through a great area with ancient aqueducts, a chapel with a sacred fresh water source and back via the chateau d'Astros, which is also worth a visit. Below a small photo impression: WALK 2 SILLANCE LA CASCADE (1 hour) At Sillance la Cascade you can also take beautiful walks. You walk from the parking lot just outside the village of Sillance (Coordinates 43.56692,6.177921) through the olive grove to the waterfall (about 10 min). There you can descend by stairs to the waterfall, where the children can play or where you can have a picnic. The water of the river is azure blue and really beautiful. Stairs to waterfall are not great with a stroller, but with a baby carrier it goes well. You can also walk to a number of viewpoints, which are really worth it. During the high season (July and August) the waterfall is a lot smaller than in spring and autumn due to drought. Below a small impression: WALK 3 TO THE HAUTE BESSILLON (JUST OUTSIDE COTIGNAC) 3 hours intensive This walking route goes up to an altitude of about 850 meters. This seems high, but because of the gradual increase you don't notice it much. It is best to drive to the Bessillon by car and go for a walk there. From Salernes it is about half an hour on the beautiful road from Entrecasteaux to Cotignac. It is a beautiful walking route with surprising natural elements up to the top where there is a truly magnificent view over the entire Var. In good weather you can even see the sea at Frejus! The Mont Ventoux and the Gorges du Verdon are also visible. The walk back is just as special, because you see the road from a different perspective. WALK 4 ON THE OLD RAILWAY TRACK FROM SALERNES TO LORGUES (3 hours light) The walk follows the Train des pignes, an old abandoned railway through the south of France. From Salernes, take the route de Entrecasteaux. After about a kilometer (coordinates: 43.545624,6.251521) the old railway starts and you walk to Lorgues via an old railway. It comes along streams and all kinds of other natural beauty. The road then leads to Chateau Menton for wine tasting. It is quite a long walk and keep in mind that you also have a car at the end point to be able to go back. WALK 5 PLAINE DES MAURES NATURAL PARK (1.5 hours of light) The Plaine des Maures National Park is a protected nature reserve and freely accessible to walkers. The beautiful pine trees combined with the red rock soil make the area truly unique. There is a large colony of wild tortoises, which is why the area is protected. Various walks are possible, but it is also a real experience to run in the morning sun. There are several parking spaces along the D558 to start your walk. I personally think (Coordinate: 43.348401,6.427681) a very nice place to start, after which you can walk to the lake. The weather in the south of France is also ideal for walking. Only the months of July and August can be very hot in the south of France, so don't forget to bring plenty of water.
