Mas Parpaioun lou (lou Parpaioun is Provencal for the butterfly) offers peace, space and comfort for a wonderful holiday in Provence. From the house, terraces, garden and heated swimming pool, there are many different views of vineyards, rolling countryside, the old village Crestet (Vaucluse), the hills of the Dentelles de Montmirail and the Mont Ventoux, of course.

Lou Mas Parpaioun on the ground floor an entrance hall with central staircase and toilet, with one side the small living room (20 m2) with fireplace. On the other side of the entrance is a spacious, fully equipped kitchen (20 m2) with every imaginable comfort. Adjacent is a second hall with spiral staircase to the large living room with kitchenette and large fireplace (50 m2). It has a beautiful view of the Dentelles de Montmirail and the old village Crestet. On the ground floor is a bedroom for 2 persons with bathroom (22 m2), shower, toilet and sink.
On the ground floor are also a number of technical areas with washing machine and dryer and a garage where bicycles can be parked and such. In the cellar under the house is an old stone bread oven preserved.

The central staircase gives access to the first floor, 2 bedrooms of 20 m2, one with bath and shower, both with sink and toilet. The second floor also has 2 bedrooms (20 m2), again each with its own shower, sink and toilet. All bedrooms are for 2 people and have first class beds (90 x 200 single, double 180 x 200) overlooking the garden and surrounding countryside.
Each bedroom has its own unique features such as beamed ceilings and tiled floor, ceiling à la Provencale, tomettes floors, a fireplace and walls "en pierre".
From the landing between the first and second floor is a second access to the living room.
All rooms have air conditioning and heating. The use of air conditioning is optional.

Directly before the house is a large, partly covered terrace with BBQ, table and armchairs. In the adjoining garden we have a lot of what nature offers here grow: from vegetables to herbs and fruit trees. The heated pool (4.10 x 10 m), the jeux de boules and a number of seats offer something for everyone. The hammocks on the Groseau the brook in the shade of the willow trees, offer an oasis of tranquility.

Lou Mas Parpaioun also has wireless Internet, satellite TV and a tennis court 250 m away

  • Payment: 50% after booking, 50% 8 weeks before arrival.
  • High season (July and August): only bookings of 2 weeks or longer
  • Changeover day is Friday, arrival from 4 pm, departure before 9.30 am.
  • Dogs allowed, advance registration required.

  • Deposit: 500, - euro, to be paid at the second payment, return within 2 weeks after departure

We, Eric and Marion Wijnen, live in France since 1999 and since then, for the most part with our own hands, we have restored 3 holiday homes. Mas lou Parpaioun is rented since 2010. In addition, we rent 3 gites at la Fontaine de Charambaud in Crestet, where we also live. We are proud of the fact that our guests are very satisfied without exception ..

Additional information

Lou Mas Parpaioun was built in 1872 with natural materials from the immediate area in a typical Provencal style. Many typical details, including a well and a bread oven, can be found in our recently restored building. It is more than 2200 m2 of land in the valley of Crestet, directly on the Groseau the stream that originates at the foot of Mont Ventoux. The medieval village Crestet (Vaucluse department) is one of the best preserved in France. It is situated on the flanks of the Dentelles de Montmirail, a small mountain range that separates the Rhone Valley of the absolute highlight of Provence: the Mont Ventoux (1912 m). The Dentelles is one of the areas to be for shorter or longer hikes or mountain bike tours, including to the Crête St. Amand (732 m). From Crestet are also several bike rides. Crestet has 3 restaurants, one at 150 meters ligt.Op 3 km away is the village of Vaison la Romaine (6000 inhabitants), known for several Roman ruins, a cathedral and a small amphitheater authentic. Vaison has all imaginable amenities: supermarkets, restaurants, shops, tourist information, bike rental companies, post office, banks and a small hospital. In the vicinity are also the villages Entrechaux (3 km) and Malaucène (6 km), each again with many restaurants and shops. From Malaucène can be climbed Ventoux (21 km to the top).
