Abbey

Friends of the Abbey" early booking discount for the Autumn holidays!

On the border of the Dordogne is a lovingly restored 16th century Abbey with beautiful views. (see videos) The tower of the Abbey has a large fully equipped kitchen, spacious romantic master bedroom with king size bed, bath, balcony and fireplace. Separate bathroom with shower and 2nd toilet. Above that, a large bedroom with a double bed and two single beds. At the top of a room for a prince or princess with a single bed.
Private terrace with hot tub and BBQ. In the garden (3500 m2) is the heated salt water private pool.
It is a large cozy house with all comfort and cool in the often warm summers and pleasantly warm in the winter. If you like that, there will be free cleaning in the meantime. The hospitable couple also live on the premises and give you a helping hand if desired, but above all a lot of privacy, so that you can fully enjoy this special place. Bakery, supermarket and pharmacy are within walking distance!

We are Sara and Ilco Schuringa and have lived in France for years. Our Abbey is now a household name for many, because cooking and yoga workshops are also regularly organized. Our greatest pleasure is to offer our guests an unforgettable stay. Even in winter or with less beautiful weather, the Abbey is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy this beautiful region. There is no stress or pressure here, just the friendly nature of the French countryside.

Alles was perfect!

Wow!!! What a find this place is,from the moment we drove through the pretty village and the gated entrance to the Abbey,we were blown away by the stunning 360degree views from the glorious grounds.
We were warmly greeted by the owners who live privately in a section of their amazing property, leaving the largest part to be rented by lucky guests, after giving us a tour,we were shown to our enormous beautiful room, with a private balcony where you are again spoiled by those views.
They supply folders of valuable information about events and points of interest in the surrounding areas, from great markets and towns to castles and Grotto's,as well as some fine restaurant recommendations, although you rarely want to eat out as the amazing kitchen is full of every appliance to help you enjoy your fresh produce bought from the markets. There is a baker in the village who makes the most amazing bread & croissants, although you better be early if you want those as gone is gone.
We really can't recommend this place highly enough as we arrived in need of a break and from the first day were totally relaxed and at home.
Do yourselves a favor and get there asap,I promise you will never regret it,we are counting the days till we can return.
