Maison de l'Horloge is a spacious, centuries-old village house with thick ancient walls, french windows and charming blue shutters. It is comfortably furnished with a mix of antiques, modern and antiques.
The stairs and level differences give this walled garden its authenticity. Lavender, oleander, olive trees, mulberry trees and a large fig tree give the garden a Mediterranean character. With herbs from the garden (thyme, rosemary and bay leaf) and other ingredients can prepare delicious meals in the outdoor kitchen. The swimming pool with sun loungers and deck chairs invite you to stay at home lazing delicious after lunch.
Brouzet-les-Ales is an even more authentic French village where you will find few tourists. In the morning you can walk in 5 minutes to the boulangerie known for its delicious pastry: croissant au beurre, pain au chocolat, pain aux raisins and chaussons aux pommes. At the café serves the newspaper, a coffee or a pastis. Le Brouzethym the local restaurant where she pizzas, salads or serve a lamskotelletje. Brouzet abuts the Mont Bouquet. The hike to the top is a challenge, but you are rewarded with a view to Mont Ventoux!
The town of Uzes (25 minutes) is world famous and for good reason: the Saturday market throughout the year attended by French, and in the summer by many tourists (go early!). But on other days it is worth it, with the magnificent plane trees, the streets lined with small boutiques and vaulted buildings on perhaps the most beautiful square in France, la Place aux Herbes. Here you will find inviting terraces and restaurantjes.Nimes (Roman arena!) And Avignon are within an hour. But also for sports, there is plenty of challenge: canoeing on the Ceze or Gardon, tree climbing (swinging from tree to tree), cycling in the Cevennes and hiking on the many trails. And of course the culinary field is enjoying the many vineyards, the delicious fruits (canteloupe melons, figs from the garden, garriguetesaardbeien in the spring), the sausages from the Cevennes and the goat cheese from the village.
Maison de l'horloge became in 2006 in our possession. Then an old house covered with a thick layer of cement, a wild garden and a leaking roof. Now, years and many job hours later, it has become what was already present potentially a nice sturdy house, with beautiful thick ancient walls and a leafy and lush garden. With our own family (3 now (almost) studying children), friends and family we enjoy each year of the house, the garden and the surrounding area.

Wij hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad. Prachtig huis, fijn zwembad, gezellige buitenkeuken.
